Darren passed away peacefully at his home in Port Arthur, Texas, after valiantly facing a long-term illness. His unwavering courage and determination were a testament to his character and strength.
Born on June 19, 1969, in the heart of Port Arthur, Darren was the beloved son of Donnie Jean Caughlin Beckcom and the late Jerry Allen Perkins. Darren's life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and an unyielding devotion to his family and friends. His father, Jerry, predeceased him, leaving a legacy of integrity and warmth that Darren carried forward in his own life.
Darren's life was enriched by his cherished family. He is lovingly remembered by his devoted mother, Donnie Jean Caughlin Beckcom, who stood by his side with constant love and support. His pride and joy, his son, Joshua Ross Perkins of College Station, Texas, carries forward Darren's legacy with his own bright spirit. Darren's sister, Jean Perkins Barnett, and her husband, Steven, along with his brother, Allen Perkins, provided him with a lifelong bond and shared memories that will be treasured forever. Darren was also a beloved uncle to Hayden Joseph Taylor and leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who were deeply touched by his kindness and humor.
Darren's life will be celebrated on July 18, 2026, at 12:30 PM, at Broussard's, located at 505 North 12th Street. Family, friends, and all whose lives Darren touched are invited to join in honoring his memory and celebrating the remarkable man he was.
