Darrell Richard Mohr

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Darrell Richard Mohr, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who peacefully departed this world on July 29, 2026, at the age of 96. Born on March 20, 1930, in Parkston, South Dakota, Darrell lived a life rich in love, service, and creativity. Darrell was the cherished son of Peter and Lovella Mohr. He grew up in South Dakota and graduated from Ethan High School in 1948. Possessing a keen interest in mechanics and technology, he went on to attend radar school during his service in the United States Army. Drafted in 1951, Darrell served honorably until 1953, stationed at March Air Base in Riverside, California. On December 29, 1953, Darrell married the love of his life, Geraldine Schulte. Together, they shared an extraordinary journey of 72 years, blessed with six children: Julee Petty, Karen Mocciaro, Mary Waters, Daniel Mohr, Joel Mohr, and Rene Asser Mohr. His family grew to include 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, each a testament to the love and legacy he leaves behind. Darrell was a man of many talents and interests. He worked in various fields throughout his life, including farming, clerking at a music store, engineering at Autonetics in Anaheim, and welding. His passion for creation was evident in his hobbies, which included metalworking, wood crafting, painting, drawing, and Diamond Art. Darrell was also a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, reflecting his deep commitment to faith and community. One of Darrell's greatest joys was traveling with his beloved Geraldine. Together, they explored 49 states in their Revcon Motorhome, collecting memories and stories that would fill their hearts and those of their family for generations. Known for his easy-going nature, Darrell's love for his family and his creative spirit touched everyone who knew him. He was a religious man, whose faith guided him through life's challenges and triumphs. A service to honor Darrell's life will be held on August 14, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at Saint Mother Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church, located at 34750 Whisper Heights Pkwy, Winchester, CA 92596. The family invites all who knew him to join in celebrating his remarkable life. The Mohr family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Wellquest of Menifee Lakes for their compassionate care and support during the last four years of Darrell's life. Darrell Richard Mohr will be dearly missed but forever remembered in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, creativity, and family devotion will continue to inspire and guide us all.
