Darnell Partee

Darnell Partee, a beloved father, brother, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 74. Born on July 27, 1952, in Memphis, Tennessee, Darnell was the cherished son of Isaiah and Lorene Partee. He was a man of deep faith, unwavering dedication, and boundless love for his family and community. Darnell was educated in Memphis, graduating from Capleville High School. He pursued higher education with a passionate commitment to his faith, earning both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Biblical Ministries from Belhaven University. His life was a testament to his beliefs, as he dedicated himself not only to his family but also to his spiritual community. Proudly serving his country, Darnell joined the Air Force, where he embodied the values of service and sacrifice. Following his military service, he embarked on a successful career, spending years at W.M. before concluding his professional journey at FedEx. Throughout his career, Darnell was known for his integrity, diligence, and kindness. A dedicated member of Burdett United Methodist Church, Darnell found joy and purpose in his faith community. His involvement in the church was a reflection of his deep spiritual convictions and his desire to serve and uplift those around him. Darnell was predeceased by his loving parents, Isaiah and Lorene Partee, as well as his brothers, Isaiah Partee 3rd, William R. Partee, Joe Willie Partee, Eugene Partee, and Oscar Lee Partee, and his sister, Willie D. Smith. He is survived by his three devoted daughters: Lazandra Blackburn of Memphis, Tennessee, Darnielle (Laymon) Bates of Farmington Hills, Michigan, and Korrickia Petty of Fort Worth, Texas. He leaves behind five cherished brothers: James (Lorene) Partee, Elroy Partee, Robert (Barbara) Partee, Kenneth (Consandra) Partee of Memphis, Tennessee, and Howard Partee of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and one sister, Jennie Ruth Franklin of Memphis, Tennessee. He will also be fondly remembered by his sisters-in-law, Bernice Partee and Linda Partee of Memphis, Tennessee. Darnell's legacy is carried on by his five beloved grandchildren, who were a constant source of pride and joy, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts. A celebration of Darnell's life will take place on August 22, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Burdett United Methodist Church, located at 4953 Malone Road, Memphis, Tennessee, 38118. Family and friends will gather to honor his life, reflect on his contributions, and find comfort in shared memories. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in Darnell's memory to a charity of your choice, reflecting the spirit of giving and community that defined his life. Darnell Partee will be remembered as a man of deep faith, unwavering dedication, and boundless love. His life was a blessing, and his memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
