Born on October 4, 1968, in Syracuse, New York, Darlene was the beloved daughter of Wilhelmina and Isaac Carr. Darlene was a remarkable woman of strength, grace, and unwavering faith. A proud alumna of Syracuse University, she carried her vibrant spirit and zest for life into everything she did. Her radiant sense of humor and unique style were trademarks of her personality, endearing her to all who knew her. As an amazing God-fearing woman, she found joy and solace in her active participation with the New Fellowship Baptist Church of Syracuse. Darlene's heart was filled with love for her family and friends. She was predeceased by her dear husband, Anthony Woods, and their cherished children, Antwon, Monet, and Trayvon Woods. Her legacy continues through her surviving children and her close-knit circle of friends. She was a devoted grandmother to four adoring grandchildren and a proud great-grandmother to one. An artist at heart, Darlene spent countless hours painting, a passion she often shared with her grandchildren, teaching them to see the world through her eyes. Her love for cooking filled her home with warmth and delightful aromas, especially during family gatherings where she would often be found at the card table, playing spades, a game in which she always seemed to have the upper hand. In honor of Darlene's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held for her family and close friends. Her life will be celebrated quietly, as she preferred, with love and gratitude for the indelible mark she left on all our hearts.
