Darlene Marie Markley

October 11, 1942 — August 8, 2026

Darlene Marie Markley, a beacon of warmth and compassion, peacefully passed away at her home in the loving embrace of her family on August 8, 2026. Born on October 11, 1942, in Toledo, Ohio, Darlene was the cherished daughter of Newton and Violet Loar. Her life was a testament to love, resilience, and the quiet strength she demonstrated in every endeavor. A graduate of Delta High School, Darlene carried her education forward into a vibrant and successful career. She spent many dedicated years at Chief Supermarket, where her hard work and perseverance were rewarded with a managerial position. Her professional journey continued as she brought her infectious energy and dedication to Spengler's Restaurant and Shehorns Pizza, leaving indelible marks on her colleagues and patrons alike. Darlene's heart was always full when she was surrounded by family. She was predeceased by her parents, Newton and Violet, and her beloved sister Kristy Weber. Her memory will forever be cherished by her sister Kathleen Hutchinson, brother Dennis Loar and his wife Judy, her children Joey Markley with his wife Tracy, Danny Markley and his wife Paula, Jeff Markley with his wife Tracy, and Staci Markley and her husband Steve Weber. Her legacy of love and compassion continues through her nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy. Known for her love of crocheting, Darlene's creations warmed both body and soul. Her skill with a crochet hook was only matched by her warm smile and gentle spirit, which she generously shared with all who knew her. Darlene's family, in the spirit of her giving nature, invites those who wish to honor her memory to make donations to a charity of their choice. In keeping with her wishes, the family will hold a celebration of her life at a later date, where stories, laughter, and memories of Darlene will be shared by all who loved her. Her departure leaves a void that can never truly be filled, but her love carries on, woven into the fabric of her family and friends' lives, much like the beautiful pieces she crafted with her own hands.
