Keinsley, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend, who departed this life on May 29, 2026, at the age of 96. Darlene passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her immediate family, leaving behind a legacy of love, devotion, and cherished memories. Born on May 4, 1930, in Monroe, Michigan, Darlene was the cherished daughter of David and Lillian "Eve" Keinsley. She was predeceased by her loving parents, her brother Walter, her sister Audrey, her daughter Rebecca, and her daughter-in-law Pamela. Darlene's life was a testament to resilience and enduring love, qualities she embodied in every relationship and endeavor she pursued. Darlene was a proud graduate of Monroe High School, class of 1948. It was here that she met the love of her life, Frederic C. Scholl. Their love story began in high school, blossomed through the challenges of the draft and a war, and culminated in a beautiful marriage on September 29, 1950. Together, they celebrated an incredible 75 years of marriage, a union marked by unwavering support, shared dreams, and a deep, abiding love. Their lives were blessed with two wonderful children, a daughter and a son, who became the center of their world. A woman of remarkable strength and grace, Darlene found fulfillment in her career as a Branch Manager for the People's Savings and Loan, where she worked diligently until her retirement in 1992. She was an active and devoted member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, where her faith was a guiding light throughout her life. Her involvement with the LCC K-9 Comfort Dog Ministry was a testament to her love for animals and her compassionate spirit. Darlene was a woman of many talents and interests. In her younger years, she delighted in the joy of square dancing and cherished her monthly card club gatherings with dear friends. She was an avid bowler and found great pleasure in arranging artificial flowers and tending to her flower beds. Her creative spirit and green thumb brought beauty into the lives of those around her. With the arrival of grandchildren, Darlene embraced her role as an extraordinary grandmother, sharing her love of card games and creating treasured memories during summer vacations. Darlene's warmth and hospitality knew no bounds. She was the perfect hostess, always ensuring that everyone felt welcome and loved. A lifelong reader, she found solace and inspiration in books, and her religious faith was an ever-present source of strength and comfort. Her love for animals was evident in her gentle and caring nature. Darlene is survived by her devoted son, Gregory Scholl; her beloved grandchildren, Phillip Scholl, Jessica Balkovec (Steven); and her precious great-grandsons, Matthew Toole, Evan Balkovec, and Merlin Scholl. She is also survived by her nieces, Lisa, Jan, Barb, and Pam, and nephews, Paul, Dan, Tim David, Gray, and Dale David, along with a large extended family of great-nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. A celebration of Darlene's life will be held on June 8, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church, located at 4560 Glendale Ave, Toledo, OH 43614.
