In loving memory of Darlene Dillard, a cherished soul who departed this world on October 8, 2026, leaving a legacy of love and compassion that will forever warm our hearts. Born on January 14, 1960, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Darlene was a beacon of kindness and generosity, whose nurturing spirit touched everyone she encountered. Darlene was the beloved daughter of the late Willie Mae Johnson and Clarence Mason, and she was predeceased by her parents, as well as her siblings, Henry Mason, Clarence Mason, Thomas Johnson, and Amy Mason. She is survived by her devoted children, William Johnson, Lakisha Johnson, Felicia Johnson, and Henry Johnson, who were the pride and joy of her life. Her family was her world, and she cherished every moment spent with them, always reminding them of the importance of love and togetherness. She is also survived by her siblings James Mason and Bernard Mason, who shared many precious memories with her, along with her treasured grandchildren: DeJah Burton, Treasure Key, Tianna Johnson, Kris Johnson, Katelyn Jones, Sirr Jones, Kyle Holmes, and Kameron Holmes. Darlene was also blessed with four great-grandchildren: Khalil Mealing, Zayden Mealing, Elijah Mealing, and Aylah Johnson, who brought immense joy and laughter into her life. Darlene had a profound love for crosswords and murder mysteries, often spending her leisure time unraveling the intricacies of a good puzzle or immersing herself in a thrilling story. Her passion for math was matched only by her delight in watching "Wheel of Fortune" with her daughter, making these simple pleasures the backdrop of countless cherished memories. Her personal qualities of care and nurture extended beyond her immediate family, as she was known for her deep conversations and open heart. Darlene had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel loved and valued, embodying the very essence of compassion and warmth. In honor of Darlene's wishes, a private ceremony will be held to celebrate her beautiful life. The family shares a heartfelt message, echoing Darlene's unwavering love and unity: "There was never a question of if I loved you or you loved me. Your love was like the breath in my body... Family is all that we have so love each other and stick together. And I am going to take this moment to say to our family what Grandma Darlene would want me to say. "Don't let this tear y'all apart. Family is all that we have so love each other and stick together. Take care of each other. Don't let me being gone stop you. Keep going thats what I wanted. I wanted to see y'all live, and laugh, and love. Time goes on, life goes on, and my love for you will never end even if you can't see me." And I want to end this by saying if you ever felt loved by my grandma take some of that love and pass it on to somebody who needs it because thats what she would've wanted. Until meet again grandma I love you." In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that those who wish to honor Darlene's memory consider passing on the love she gave so freely by helping someone in need, as she would have wanted. Darlene Dillard's love transcends her physical presence, and her legacy will continue to inspire us to live, laugh, and love wholeheartedly. Until we meet again, dear Darlene, you will forever be in our hearts.
