Darlene D. Holland

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Darlene D. Holland, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who left this world peacefully in her sleep on July 22, 2026, at the age of 65. Born on November 26, 1960, in York, Pennsylvania, Darlene was the cherished daughter of Mary Powell and John Nolden. Darlene was a proud graduate of William Penn Sr. High School, Class of 1979. Her journey through the York City School system laid the foundation for a life marked by kindness, dedication, and an unwavering love for her family and community. She spent her professional life doing clerical work for Magistrate Nixon's office, where she was admired for her diligence and her warm, welcoming spirit. Her coworkers will deeply miss her gentle presence and her ability to bring a smile to anyone's face. Darlene's life was one of love and devotion, most notably to her family. She shared a beautiful marriage with her loving husband, Wayne R. Holland, Sr., with whom she created a home filled with laughter and love. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Wayne R. Holland, Jr. (Crystal) and Kaprisha Powell (Lance), who were her pride and joy. As a grandmother to five precious grandchildren, Darlene found immense happiness and fulfillment, always cherishing the time spent with them. In addition to her children and grandchildren, Darlene is survived by her siblings, Gary "Butch" Powell, Dean Powell (Zinda), Charles "Chuck" Powell, Tyrone Powell, Jason Nolden (Carvonya), and Patricia Powell. She was predeceased by her brothers, Jerome, Rick, and Jeffrey, whose memories she held close to her heart throughout her life. Darlene's presence in the lives of those who knew her was a blessing, and her absence leaves a void that can never be filled. Her family invites all who knew and loved her to join in a celebration of Darlene's life on July 29, 2026, at 9:30 AM at Boulding Mortuary, Inc., located at 471 Madison Avenue, York, PA 17404. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, a gesture that would honor Darlene's generous spirit and enduring legacy of kindness. Darlene's life was a testament to the power of love, family, and community. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in peace, embraced by the love of those who have gone before her.
