It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Darlen Elizabeth Jones, a cherished and valued member of her family and community, who departed from us unexpectedly on August 20, 2026, at the age of 66. Darlen's life, although tragically cut short due to a car accident, was one filled with love, laughter, and an enduring dedication to those she held dear. Born on August 16, 1960, in the vibrant city of Baltimore, Maryland, Darlen was the beloved daughter of the late Donald Fauntleroy Sr. and Hattie Macklin. Throughout her life, she carried the warmth and spirit of her hometown, always keeping her family and friends close to her heart. Darlen was predeceased by her devoted husband, Robert Jones; her father, Donald Fauntleroy Sr.; her mother, Hattie Macklin; and her nephew, Bernard Redmond. She leaves behind a loving family, including her siblings, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews, all of whom she cherished deeply. Those who knew Darlen will fondly remember her for her vivacious personality and her exceptional taste in style. She was well-known for her beautifully kept yard, a testament to her passion for gardening and her love for being surrounded by nature’s beauty. Her diverse collection of hairstyles was a reflection of her creative spirit and her ability to embrace change with grace. Darlen found great joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as fishing, tending to her plants and flowers, and indulging in her love for shopping. Her kindness was a beacon to all who crossed her path, touching lives with her generosity and gentle spirit. A service to honor and celebrate Darlen's life will be held on August 29, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Berry O. Waddy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, located at 14476 Northumberland Hwy, Burgess, VA 22432. Family, friends, and all those whose lives were enriched by Darlen's presence are warmly invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Darlen's memory to a charity of your choice. Darlen Elizabeth Jones will be dearly missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those she touched. Her legacy of kindness, her love for family, and her zest for life will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in peace.
