It is with heavy hearts and profound respect that we announce the passing of Darin London Dockery, a cherished father, brother, grandfather, and friend, whose vibrant spirit left an indelible mark on all who knew him. Darin departed this life on June 9, 2026, at the age of 60, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on October 12, 1965, in the bustling borough of Brooklyn, New York, Darin was the beloved son of the late Robert Dockery and Rosanell Randolph Lockley. From a young age, Darin exemplified a zest for life and an intellectual curiosity that would guide him through his journey.
Darin was a man of many talents and pursuits. He attended local schools and furthered his education at Edward Waters College in Jacksonville, Florida, where he honed his interests in mechanics and technology. His inquisitive nature led him to serve honorably in the United States Army, where he developed a profound sense of duty and camaraderie.
After his time in the military, Darin pursued multiple entrepreneurial ventures, with his last being in the mechanics field. His work ethic and dedication were admired by all who had the pleasure of working alongside him. Darin was also an active member of St. Pius Catholic Church, where he was known for his unwavering faith and dedication to his community.
A man of diverse interests, Darin was skilled in the art of robotics and electronic toy making, channeling his creativity into hobbies that brought joy to many. He was an avid fisherman, a passionate train enthusiast, and a collector of trading cards. His green thumb was evident in the lush gardens he cultivated, bringing beauty and life to his surroundings.
Darin's legacy is carried on by his six devoted children: Tiffany O'Neal, Nakeia Webbe, Netosha Bryan, Nakayla Walker, Nakesha Ferguson, and Durin Smith. He was a doting grandfather to 17 grandchildren and a proud great-grandfather to three great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy to his life.
He is also survived by his step-father, Clarence Johnson; siblings, Tanya Braswell, Shawan Andres, Clarence Johnson Jr., and Cassandra Figueroa; his beloved aunt, Patricia Ross; and his uncle, Fred "Ricky" Randolph. Darin held a special place in his heart for his godson, Keith Wards, and dear friends, Robert "LA" Atwater and Todd Powell. His extended family, including a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, will forever cherish the memories they shared with him.
Darin was predeceased by his parents, his special friend Patsy Quaintance, and leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience.
A private funeral ceremony will be held in honor of Darin's wishes, allowing his family to celebrate his life in an intimate setting. Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we find comfort in knowing that Darin's spirit lives on in the hearts of those who loved him.
