With heavy hearts and loving memories, we announce the passing of Darell Richard Garnier, who departed this world peacefully at his home on July 31, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on October 28, 1951, in Redding, California, Darell was a beacon of humor, love, and dedication throughout his 74 years. Darell was the beloved son of the late Jenny Saling and Phil Garnier. He was predeceased by his cherished brothers Larry and Jerry Garnier, his sisters Barbara and Phillis, stepson Jim Rossow, and great-grandson Zane Wright. Despite these profound losses, Darell's spirit remained resilient, continuously embracing life with warmth and generosity. A devoted husband, Darell shared 38 wonderful years of marriage with his wife, Becky Garnier, after exchanging vows on June 4, 1988. Together, they built a life rich with love and laughter. He is also fondly remembered by his ex-wife, Barbara Jones. Darell was a loving father to his sons Jeremy and Shiloh Garnier, and his daughter, Desiree Garnier. His legacy of love extends to his grandchildren: Jeremy, Jacob, Tatum, Gage, Taylor, Madison, Adrian, Jude, Imogen, Riley, Rowen, Blake, and Trace, and his great-grandchildren: Daisy, Rebekah, Winona, Austin, and Ray—all of whom were his pride and joy. Darell’s career spanned three decades as Plant Manager at Trinity Industries, where he was respected for his outstanding work ethic and leadership. His colleagues often admired his balance of professionalism and humor, qualities that endeared him to many. In his personal life, Darell found immense joy in simple pleasures. He was an avid boater, finding tranquility on the lake, and cherished long drives accompanied by his loyal dogs. His laughter was infectious, and his loving character left an indelible mark on everyone he met. Darell is survived by his sister-in-law Dian Harrell, brother-in-law Jim Harrell, niece Kim Harrell, and nephew Chris Harrell, all of whom held a special place in his heart. A celebration of Darell’s life will be held on August 6, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Raders Funeral Home, located at 401 North Martin, Kilgore, Texas 75662. Family and friends will gather to honor a life well-lived and to share stories of a man who touched so many lives. In lieu of flowers, Darell’s family kindly requests that donations be made in his memory to support cancer research or a charity of your choice, reflecting his enduring spirit of giving. Darell Richard Garnier will be remembered for his joie de vivre, his unwavering love for family, and a legacy of kindness that will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
