It is with profound sadness and loving remembrance that we announce the passing of Darcy Apetz Clapp, who left this world on April 27, 2026, at the age of 77. Born on January 5, 1949. Darcy’s journey through life was marked by grace, resilience, and a deep affection for both the people and creatures who shared her world. Darcy was the beloved daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Apetz, whose nurturing spirits shaped her into the compassionate and spirited woman we all cherished. She is reunited in eternal peace with them and her dear son, Todd Dipetrillo, whose memories she held close to her heart every day. Darcy's legacy is lovingly carried forward by her devoted husband, Robert Clapp, who stood by her side through life's many adventures and challenges. Her son, Tyson Dipetrillo, and his wife, Yisel, along with her stepdaughter, Alyssa Granato, continue to honor her memory and the values she instilled in them. Darcy's sisters, Michele Bouvier and her husband Tom, and Melissa Zimmerlee and her husband John, who will forever hold dear the sisterly bonds and shared memories that enriched their lives. Her niece and nephews Danielle, Christopher and Brian who always called her “Dar”for short will relive their memories of her forever. And we must include her best friend of over 45 years, Nancy Zink who also shared a sister like bond and stood beside her thru all the ups and downs of life without wavering. A dedicated and valued employee, Darcy devoted over 30 years to a career at AT&T, where her diligence and warm nature left a lasting impression on colleagues and friends alike. Beyond her professional life, Darcy found joy in the simple pleasures of nature. An avid gardener, she nurtured her plants with the same tender care she gave to those around her. Her love for animals and birds was well-known, and her home was a sanctuary for the many creatures she adored. Her heart was equally attuned to the melodies of country music, which provided a soothing backdrop to her life and inspired many cherished moments of song and dance. In her later years, Darcy’s greatest treasures were her grandchildren, Sebastian and Rafael Fernandez, and Anthony Granato. In their laughter and joy, she found boundless happiness and fulfillment. Her legacy will live on through them, and they will forever carry her stories and values as part of their own lives. In accordance with her wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Darcy's life. Her family invites you to remember her in your own way, cherishing the moments you shared and the love she so freely gave. Her family wishes to convey a special message: "She will be forever in our hearts and souls. We hope that she rests in peace after her arduous battle and finds happiness with being reunited with loved ones who passed before her." Darcy Apetz Clapp was a beacon of love, strength, and kindness, touching the lives of all who knew her. Though she has departed from this earthly plane, her spirit remains woven into the fabric of our lives, a reminder of the beauty and grace she brought to the world.
