Darcie Ann Godin May 24, 1976 – April 24, 2026 With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Darcie Ann Godin, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, on April 24, 2026, in her hometown of Allena, Michigan, after a courageous battle with cancer. Darcie’s journey on this earth was one filled with love, laughter, and an indomitable spirit that touched everyone she met. Born on May 24, 1976, Darcie was the cherished daughter of the late Dick Godin and Shirley Stonburner. She grew up in a home filled with warmth and humor, qualities she inherited from her parents and carried throughout her life. Darcie was predeceased by her loving parents, but their legacy of kindness and joy lived on in her. Darcie’s life was beautifully intertwined with her devoted husband, Shawn, with whom she shared many years of love and companionship. Together, they crafted a life that was a testament to strength and courage, raising their children with the same values. Her husband Shawn, her pride and joy, survives her along with their children: Paige Godin and her spouse Patrick Fowler, Vanessa Godin and her spouse, and Alan. Her favorite uncle, Jessie Cole, also survives her, providing support and love to the family. Darcie was blessed with 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy and pride to her life. She was a beacon of warmth and friendliness, known for her ability to light up any room she entered. Her infectious laughter and radiant smile were a source of comfort and happiness to all who knew her. A gifted cook and an extraordinary mother, Darcie dedicated her life to nurturing her family. Her legacy will continue to inspire her family to live life with love and laughter, just as she did. Darcie had a unique sense of humor and a zest for life that was truly unparalleled. Her hobbies and interests reflected her vibrant personality, and she inherited a great sense of humor from her mother, which she shared generously with those around her. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the University of Michigan for their compassionate care during Darcie’s illness. Their support provided comfort to Darcie and her family during this difficult time. In accordance with Darcie’s wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor her memory and celebrate her life. Darcie Ann Godin’s spirit will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. As we say goodbye, we hold onto the warmth she brought into our lives and the love she shared so freely. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
