December 2, 1940 — April 7, 2026

It is with heavy hearts yet grateful spirits that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Daphne Seaton on April 7, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on December 2, 1940, in the lush landscapes of St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, Daphne's journey was one of resilience, warmth, and unwavering love. She leaves behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew her. Daphne was the cherished daughter of the late Cora Dunkley and Joseph Seaton. She was a devoted mother to her children, Sharon (Dawn), Debbie, Maxine, and Paul, whose lives she enriched with her boundless love and nurturing spirit. She was a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren and a great-grandmother to six, each of whom she adored and cherished deeply. Her early years in Jamaica were marked by hard work and dedication, having graduated high school and started her career as a bus conductor. Yet, Daphne's ambitions knew no bounds. She bravely ventured to the United States, where she forged a successful career with major insurance companies, proving her mettle and determination. Daphne's life was not just about work; it was richly adorned with hobbies and passions that brought joy to her and those around her. Her kitchen was the heart of her home, filled with the delightful aromas of her cooking. She was a fashionista at heart, reveling in shopping trips that allowed her to express her vibrant personality through her wardrobe. Her garden was a testament to her nurturing touch, and her evenings were often spent in the company of her favorite sitcoms, with Jeopardy being a particular favorite. Those who were fortunate enough to know Daphne will remember her as a kind-hearted and welcoming soul. Her presence was a beacon of warmth, her hugs a source of comfort, and her smile a reflection of the joy she brought into the world. Daphne had a unique ability to make everyone feel loved and valued, often greeting visitors with a playful "nobody's home," while eagerly awaiting the laughter and love that family gatherings would bring. One of Daphne's greatest joys was gathering her family around her kitchen table every Sunday and on holidays and special occasions. These moments were precious to her, infused with laughter, storytelling, and the sharing of delicious meals. Her family was her pride and joy, the center of her world, and her legacy of love will continue to inspire them. Daphne's life will be celebrated on May 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Victory Seventh Day Adventist Church, located at 1271 Burke Ave, Bronx, NY 10469. We invite all who knew her to join us in honoring her remarkable life and the immense love she shared. While we mourn her passing, we take solace in knowing that Daphne's spirit will forever reside in the hearts of her family and friends. Her memory will continue to inspire kindness, joy, and an unwavering appreciation for the beauty of life. Rest in peace, dear Daphne, and thank you for the love and laughter you brought into our lives.
