It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Danny Wade Burke, who left this world peacefully on November 25, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on January 15, 1944, in the vibrant city of Seattle, Danny was a beacon of warmth and humor, whose presence brought joy to everyone he encountered. Danny had an extraordinary life journey, marked by deep love and commitment. He married the love of his life, Cheryl DeNae, on November 25, 1965, and together they shared 60 amazing years of marriage. Cheryl was not only his beloved wife but his most trusted companion, and notably, the only person he ever allowed to drive his cherished Pontiac Chieftain. Their enduring love story is an inspiration to all who knew them. A proud father and grandfather, Danny is survived by his devoted wife Cheryl and their three sons: Tony and his wife Taja, Jeffrey and his wife Kimmie, and Michael and his wife Amy. Danny was blessed with 10 grandchildren—Courtney, Whitney, McKenzie, Amy, Shane, Allison, Sierra, Madison, Tanner, and Elizabeth—and 11 great-grandchildren, each of whom he adored. His family was his greatest pride and joy, and they will forever cherish the memories made with him. Danny is predeceased by his beloved daughter, Shelly Ann, whom he has now reunited with in Heaven. Danny was a man of many talents and passions. He served as a dedicated firefighter and EMT with the Kent Fire Department from 1970 to 1982, bravely protecting his community. Following his service, Danny took his passion for woodworking and fine craftsmanship and made a career building homes and creating beautiful furniture, cabinets, finish work, you name it he was a master at it. He continued this artistry beyond his retirement in 2010 building his and Cheryl's beautiful cabin on the lake leaving behind a legacy of quality and dedication. Known for his quick wit, warm smile, and infectious humor, Danny always brought laughter and light to those around him. He had a unique ability to make everyone feel welcome, often breaking the ice with his playful quips—did you know they took gullible out of the dictionary? His playful spirit and compassionate nature made him a cherished friend to many. In his free time, Danny completely rebuilt their 1931 model A. He loved to keep an immaculate lawn, showcasing his meticulous nature and pride in his home. His eye for detail and love for the outdoors was evident in everything he did, whether it was building a barn or perfecting the family garden. As we gather to honor Danny's remarkable life, we remember not only the laughter and love he shared but also the profound impact he had on all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and craftsmanship that will continue to inspire future generations. A celebration of Danny's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will come together to share stories, laughter, and love in memory of an extraordinary man. Danny Wade Burke will be deeply missed but forever remembered. His spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, and his legacy will endure in the stories we share and the love we give.
