Danny Richison

It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Danny Richison, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Danny left this world peacefully on July 21, 2026, at the age of 77. Danny was born in the charming town of Gainesville, Missouri, on November 19, 1948, to his cherished parents, Ed and Nellie Chisam, and Carl and Midge Richison. From a young age, Danny's life was imbued with the values of hard work, kindness, and community, which he carried with him throughout his life. He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Carl Jr. Richison, and his grandson, Rex Wallace, whose memories continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved them. Danny is survived by his loving children, Patti (Scott) Seagle, Shawn (Shannon) Richison, Erin Richison, and Kristian (Ryan) Wallace. He was the proud grandfather of ten adoring grandchildren: Brit, Bryant, and Ella Clark, Daniel Richison and Ryan Dockins, Olivia (Alex) Fike, Alta (Dobber) Dale, Hunter and Hayden Shaver, Marilyn Wallace, and enjoyed the company of his great-grandchild, Braylen Fike. Danny also leaves behind his devoted sister Juanita Smith, his brother Dale Richison, and a host of cherished cousins. A graduate of Gainesville High School, Class of 1967, Danny embarked on a life marked by dedication and a strong work ethic. He was a valued employee of Rock Island Railroad and later became a familiar face at Town & Country grocery store. However, it was his passion for horses that defined much of his life. Danny was a cowboy through and through, training and breaking countless horses, as well as serving as a mentor at the youth rodeo. His skills as a horseman, jockey, and rodeo clown were widely admired, and he brought joy to many as a trail guide at Rockbridge. Danny's love for country and western dancing was infectious, and his presence on the dance floor was always met with admiration. Danny was a man of faith and an active member of both the Seymour Free Will Baptist Church and the Cold Creek Cowboy Church in Ava. His simple, kind, and generous nature touched everyone he met, and he will be remembered as a true gentleman, respectful and warm-hearted to all. A celebration of Danny's life will take place on July 25, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Seymour Free Will Baptist Church, located at 403 W. Ventura Drive, Seymour, MO. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Danny are invited to attend and share in remembering a remarkable man who left an indelible impact on the world. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Danny's memory to the Cold Creek Cowboy Church in Mansfield, MO, an organization close to his heart. Danny Richison's legacy is one of love, laughter, and an unwavering spirit. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten, as he rides on in the hearts of those who loved him.
