It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Danny Ray McCall Jr., who departed this world on March 11, 2026, at the age of 43. Born on October 8, 1982, in Jackson, Mississippi, Danny's life journey, though far too brief, was filled with love, dedication, and strength.
Danny was the cherished son of Rebecca McCall Slade and the late Danny Ray McCall Sr. From a young age, his inquisitive nature and keen intellect shone brightly. He graduated from Murrah High School, where his passion for technology and engineering began to take root. Danny went on to dedicate 25 years of his life as an innovative and talented engineer, contributing significantly to the family business. His work was not just a career but a testament to his dedication and a reflection of his brilliant mind.
Danny's personal interests were as varied as they were profound. A tech-savvy individual, he found joy in computers, building models, and gaming. Yet, it was his love for family and his culinary skills that truly defined him. Danny took immense pleasure in cooking from scratch, often filling his home with the inviting aromas of a lovingly prepared meal, a testament to his nurturing spirit and the warmth he shared with those around him.
Despite his quiet demeanor and preference for solitude, Danny's intelligence and myriad talents touched the lives of everyone he encountered. His legacy is one of kindness, quiet strength, and an enduring love for his family and friends.
Danny is survived by his devoted mother, Rebecca Slade, and his loving siblings: Angela McCall, Mesha (Chris) Carr, Kristi McCall, Rebekah McCall, and Joshua McCall. He leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews who adored him: Aleigha Harrell, Kyleigh McCall, Amberly Creason, Austin Harrell, Jeremy Cooper, Brandan Shanahan, Danny Christian Shanahan, and Andrew Shanahan. His memory will also be cherished by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends.
He was predeceased by his father, Danny Ray McCall Sr., his grandparents Ray and Marie McCall, John Chester and Annie Ruth Magarity, and his sister, Tonya Cooper, who have all welcomed him into eternal peace.
A celebration of Danny's life will be held on March 18, 2026, at 3:00 PM at New Life Church, located at 300 Shiloh Road, Brandon, MS. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor a life well-lived and to find comfort in the shared memories of a remarkable man.
The family wishes to share a special message of hope and faith, as Danny found solace in the words of John 3:16: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
Danny Ray McCall Jr. will be deeply missed, yet his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to cancer research in Danny's memory, to help others in their courageous battles.
