Danny Lee Wright

Danny Lee Wright, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home on October 14, 2026. Born on December 29, 1950, in Marion, Illinois, Danny lived a life full of warmth, humor, and compassion, leaving an indelible mark on everyone he met. Danny was the cherished son of Billy (Bill) and Sabana (Suzie) Wright. He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Linda Gattis-Wright, and his niece Angela Wright. He is survived by his devoted daughter, Jenniffer Wright, her husband, Michael Prosper, and his treasured grandson, Oliver Prosper-Wright, as well as his brothers, David and Eddie. Danny was also the father of twin boys Dana and Danny and a daughter Diana. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who adored him. After completing high school, Danny bravely served his country in the U.S. Army, fighting in Vietnam. This experience shaped the compassionate and understanding nature that everyone came to know and love. Upon returning, he found joy working at the SuperWash/LazerWash car washes, a job that allowed him to engage with his community daily, sharing jokes and stories with everyone he encountered. Danny was a man of simple pleasures, finding happiness in fishing, gambling, and long car rides on sunny days. These activities were made even more enjoyable by his ability to make friends wherever he went. His amazing sense of humor was second to none, and he was well-known for his repertoire of jokes. Danny's kind heart and intolerance for drama endeared him to all who knew him. Above all, Danny was a devoted father to Jenniffer and a doting grandfather to Oliver. He cherished watching Oliver grow into a young man and took immense pride in his family. His love and dedication to them will be forever remembered. Danny's family will be hosting a celebration of his life at a later date, to be determined by his daughter and family. They invite all who knew Danny to join them in remembrance and to share stories that honor his memory. Those interested in attending are encouraged to reach out to ensure they receive an invitation.
