Danny Elliott, a beloved son, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family, on April 26, 2026, at the age of 69. Born on January 21, 1957, in Oak Grove, Louisiana, Danny was a pillar of strength and kindness in the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him. Danny was the cherished son of Joe and Ann Martin Elliott. He was predeceased by his father, Joe, and his sister, Sarah Elliott Prine, both of whom he held close to his heart. His mother, Ann Martin Elliott, survives him and continues to be a beacon of love and resilience for the family. Danny was a proud graduate of Forest High School, Class of 1975. He pursued a life deeply rooted in the soil of his beloved Louisiana, engaging in farming—a calling that nourished both his spirit and his community. His connection to the land was mirrored in his love for deer hunting, a passion he shared with his friends during countless days at the hunting camp. It was a joy he passed down to his grandson, Reed, creating cherished memories that will be treasured for generations. A man of diverse interests, Danny was a history enthusiast with an exceptional ability to bring the past to life through his detailed explanations of American and Louisiana history. His love for history was matched by his passion for football, particularly as an ardent supporter of LSU college football. Conversations with Danny were always enlightening and engaging, as he had a rare gift for discussing any topic with genuine interest and insight. Danny is survived by his devoted son, Ryan Elliott, who carries forward his father’s legacy of warmth and wisdom. His grandchildren, Reed and Mamie Elliott, were the light of his life, filling his days with joy and laughter. Danny's lasting influence is also felt deeply by his siblings: David Elliott; Mark and Toni Elliott; Matilda and Frank Sampognaro; and Phillip and Christy Elliott. He leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, who will forever remember him as a source of love and inspiration. Though Danny has departed from this world, his spirit endures in the hearts of all who knew him. His life was a testament to the power of love, family, and friendship.
