October 6, 1959 — August 8, 2026

Danny Rogayan Alferes, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2026. Born on October 6, 1959, in Long Beach California, Danny was the cherished son of Primitivo Felaire Alferes, Sr. and Alicia Aguimatang Rogayan Alferes. He was predeceased in death by his father, Primitivo Felaire Alferes, Sr., and is survived by his devoted wife, Florence Angeles Alferes, his treasured daughter, Laura Ashley Alferes, his loving mother, Alicia Aguimatang Rogayan Alferes, and his siblings, Myrnalynn Alferes Tonkin (Pete), Primitivo Alferes, Jr., Lorna Alferes Shelton (Mark), and many extended family members, including in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins. All carry fond memories of his warmth and humor. Danny was an honorable man of quiet strength and remarkable resilience, facing his illness with incredible courage and an unwavering optimism that inspired all who knew him. His gentle demeanor and impeccable timing for humor made every interaction memorable and heartwarming. He was a man who found joy in both making others smile, often slipping in a quick-witted joke just when it was needed most, and by being a pillar of stability and support when others were in need. On September 12, 1987, Danny married the love of his life, Florence, with whom he shared nearly four decades of love, laughter, and partnership. Together, they raised their daughter, Laura Ashley, whom he affectionately referred to as “Ashley”, in a home filled with encouragement, often referring to themselves as the Three Amigos. He loved being involved with Ashley’s symphony, where he spent years supporting the students through his kind encouragement. Danny's legacy of kindness and laughter will live on through Laura Ashley and all who had the privilege of knowing him. In addition to his devoted family life, Danny honorably served his country in the United States Navy for 20 years. His dedication and service left a lasting impact on his fellow servicemen and women, and he carried the values of loyalty and integrity with him throughout his life. To honor Danny's life and legacy, a service will be held on August 15, 2026, at 1:00 PM, at the Courthouse Community United Methodist Church, located at 2708 Princess Anne Rd, Virginia Beach, VA 23456. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate Danny’s life, share memories and pay tribute to a man who touched so many lives, and bring a dish for a reception to follow immediately after the service. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported and prayed for them during Danny’s illness. Your love and kindness have been a source of strength and comfort in these challenging times.
