Danieldavid Herbert Nixon, affectionately known as Nixon, Nix, Daniel, David or Asher also Herbie passed away unexpectedly on August 1, 2025, at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine, due to complications from an infection. Born on December 9, 1970, in Portland, Maine, Nixon lived a life marked by love, resilience, and an unyielding spirit. Nixon was the beloved husband of Angela Mary Nixon, whom he married on February 4, 2016. Together, they shared a remarkable bond, full of love and laughter, and raised three children whom Nixom cherished as his own. Their journey was one of unwavering support and deep affection, a testament to their enduring love. A man of many talents and interests,Nixon was known for his passion for basketball, where he often dazzled with his impressive tricks—a skill he even passed on to his beloved dog, who he loves to teach knew tricks to .Shadow. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as hiking with family, riding bikes, playing softball, and spending cherished moments at Norway Lake. An artist at heart,Nixon had a flair for creativity, often expressing himself through his art, despite his own modesty about his talents. Nixons career was marked by his dedication and pride as he worked alongside his friend, Eric Stack, building beautiful homes. His work ethic was unmatched, and he took immense pride in every project he undertook. In his spare time, Nixon enjoyed fixing bikes, listening to his favorite band, Haystack, and collecting skulls, knives, and wolves—reflecting his unique personality and interests. Despite his tough exterior, Nixon had a heart of gold, a side only those closest to him truly understood. He faced his battles with mental illness and addiction with courage, a testament to his strength and resilience. Nixon is survived by his wife, Angela, of Waterford, Maine; his children: Madison, Aiden, and Zoe Smith of Norway, Maine; his son, Kellan, of Massachusetts; and his daughter, Destiny Nixon, of Bethel, Maine. He leaves behind his mother, Veleeta Jane Stubbs Stickland of Norway, Maine, and cherished siblings and extended family. He was predeceased by his father, Daniel David Nixon, his niece, Hailey Steward, his father-in-law, Rupert Malchisky, and his brother-in-law, Randy Malchisky. The family will announce a celebration of Nixons life at a later date, where friends and family can gather to honor and remember the remarkable man he was. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in Nixons memory to a charitable organization of your choice, reflecting the spirit of generosity and kindness that Nixon embodied. As we say goodbye to Nixon, we hold onto the love and memories he leaves behind, cherishing them as we move forward with hearts full of gratitude for having had him in our lives.
