Daniel Russell Gould

June 5, 1930 — August 8, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Daniel Russell Gould, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, on August 8, 2026. Born on June 5, 1930, in the serene town of Manistique, Michigan, Daniel was the beloved son of the late Daniel and Matilda Gould. Daniel led a life marked by dedication and love. As a proud veteran, he served valiantly during the Korean War, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to his country. His bravery and service were a testament to the strength of his character and the depth of his patriotism. In 1952, Daniel married the love of his life, Wanda M. Archambeault, in a ceremony that marked the beginning of a beautiful journey together. They made a warm home in Manistique, where they nurtured their family and built lasting memories. Although Wanda predeceased him, Daniel continued to honor her memory throughout his life. He later found companionship and love with his second wife, Loretta Gould (Norbotten), who stood by his side in later years. Daniel's legacy thrives through his six children: Carol (James) Haigh of Manistique, Jean Supernault of Ann Arbor, MI, Marsha Gibbs of Manistique, Cheryl Blair of Chicago, IL, Daniel (Dina) Gould of Ray, MI, and Fred Gould. He was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren and a doting great-grandfather to eight great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy and pride to his life. Beyond his family and military service, Daniel was a man of varied interests. He found peace and joy in traveling, fishing, and boating, activities that allowed him to explore the world and embrace the tranquility of nature. His love for adventure was contagious, inspiring those around him to appreciate the beauty of life’s simple pleasures. In honor of Daniel's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to celebrate his life and legacy. The family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his memory to a charitable organization of choice or a memorial fund that reflects his values and passions. Daniel Russell Gould will be remembered for his generosity, his unwavering spirit, and the profound love he had for his family and friends. His memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know him.
