January 21, 1957 — April 25, 2026

We gather with heavy hearts to honor and celebrate the life of Daniel Lee Elliott, who passed from this world on April 25, 2026, at the age of 69. Daniel left us as he lived, quietly and surrounded by the love of his family, at his home in Oak Grove, Louisiana. Born on January 21, 1957, in the serene town of Lake Providence, Louisiana, Daniel was the beloved son of Joe and Ann Martin Elliott. He was welcomed into a family that instilled in him the values of hard work, integrity, and an unwavering love for the land, which would guide him throughout his life. Daniel graduated from Forest High School in 1975, setting the stage for a lifelong dedication to farming, a profession he held dear. His conversations in farming row crops often reflected his deep-rooted passion, showcasing his extensive knowledge and commitment to the farming community. Through the years, Daniel became a respected figure in the fields he tended and among the people he worked alongside. Outside of his career, Daniel found solace and joy in the great outdoors. He was an avid deer hunter and fisherman, pursuits that allowed him to connect with nature and share treasured moments with family and friends. His love for history, particularly American and Louisiana history and World War II, was a testament to his inquisitive mind and his appreciation for the stories that shape our world. Daniel is preceded in death by his father, Joe Elliott, and his beloved sister, Sarah Elliott Prine. He leaves behind a legacy of love and memories cherished by his surviving family: his devoted mother, Ann Elliott; his son, Ryan Elliott; and his precious grandchildren, Reed and Mamie Elliott, who brought immense joy to his life. He is also survived by his siblings and their spouses, David Elliott, Mark and Toni Elliott, Matilda and Frank Sampognaro, and Phillip and Christy Elliott, all of whom shared in the laughter and love that defined their family bonds. Services to honor Daniel's life will be held on April 27, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Cox Funeral Home in Oak Grove, Louisiana. Friends and family will gather to pay their respects and celebrate the life of a man who touched the hearts of many with his kindness, wisdom, and genuine spirit. In remembering Daniel, we celebrate a life well-lived—a life marked by dedication to family, respect for the land, and an unyielding curiosity about the world around him. His legacy lives on in the fields he nurtured, the stories he shared, and the family he loved so deeply. May he rest in peace, knowing he was profoundly loved and will be dearly missed.
