Daniel Lee Clark
January 1, 1952 — October 8, 2026
It is with deep sadness and heartfelt love that we share the passing of Daniel Lee Clark, who left us peacefully at his home on October 8, 2026. Born on January 1, 1952, in Bigfork, MN, Dan lived a life full of warmth, laughter, and dedication to family and friends.
Dan was the beloved son of John Alfred Pierson and Deloris Crawford, and he remained deeply connected to his roots in Bigfork. Though preceded in death by his father, John, and his brother, James Alfred Pierson, Dan's legacy continues through the lives of those he touched. He leaves behind his devoted partner and the mother of his children, Gail Clark, with whom he shared a beautiful journey of love and family since their marriage in 1972.
Together, Dan and Gail nurtured five children, who carry forward his spirit and values: Dick Clark, Daniel Clark, Dora Dietrich, Debra Holm, and Donna Reinarz. Dan was also a cherished grandfather to thirteen grandchildren—Nikki, Casey, Mariah, Taylor, Madison, Andrew, Jared, Hope, Kari, Kylie, Kevin, Katie, and Kyrsten—and the proud great-grandfather to two great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life.
Dan's life was one of hard work and dedication, a testament to his strong character. After graduating from Bigfork High School in 1970, he embarked on a career in logging, general labor, and construction. His work ethic and commitment were well recognized, and he eventually retired from Knife River Construction in Bemidji, Minnesota.
An avid outdoorsman, Dan found solace in the beauty of nature. He cherished deer hunting, fishing, and especially the elk hunting trips to Colorado, sharing these beloved activities with his children and creating countless cherished memories. Dan's love for the outdoors was matched only by his affection for his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, with whom he spent many joyful hours.
Known for his storytelling, Dan had a knack for recounting tales filled with emotion and warmth. He spoke fondly of his friends, family, and the many memories he held dear, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Dan is survived by his loving siblings, David, Johnny, Dora, Mary, and Michael, who will continue to honor his memory. The family extends their deepest gratitude to St. Croix Hospice for their compassionate care during Dan's final days. In a tribute to his life, a tree has been planted along the St. Croix River Valley, symbolizing his enduring presence and the love of those who will forever hold him close.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice in Dan's name. Let us celebrate the life of Daniel Lee Clark, a man who was not only loved but deeply admired, and whose legacy will be a guiding light for generations to come.
