February 4, 1958 — May 13, 2026

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Daniel J. Becker, who left this world peacefully on May 13, 2026, in the comforting embrace of his family after a brave and courageous battle with colon cancer. Born on February 4, 1958, in Great Falls, Montana, Dan lived a life rich with love, laughter, and meaningful connections. Dan was the beloved husband of Carla Becker, with whom he shared a remarkable journey of over 48 years. They married on March 18, 1978, in Forsyth, MT, and together, they raised two wonderful children, Danny Becker and Korry Thompson (Emanuel). Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership, and their bond was the cornerstone of a family that continues to flourish. He was the proud grandfather to five cherished grandchildren, Riley, Kobe, McKenna, Kambria, and Avianne, and the doting great-grandfather to Ezra and Koah. Dan's family extended beyond his immediate circle, as he was a beloved brother to Yvonne Becker, John Becker, Denise Ferguson, Shelley Orth (Rob), Tom Becker (Mila), Betsy Gehrke (Ron), and Renee Kalfell (Randy). His generous spirit touched the lives of many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, each of whom held a special place in his heart. Dan was preceded in death by his loving parents, Warren J. Becker and Dorothy M. Becker (Kurkowski), his brothers George Becker, and his brother-in-law Jean Stanley, as well as his niece Kaylen Gehrke and nephew Justin Becker. Though they are no longer with us, their memories continue to be celebrated in the stories and hearts of those who remain. A man of many talents, Dan was known as a true jack-of-all-trades. After attending high school in Forsyth, MT, he embarked on a career with CCSC in 198, which later led him to serve the City of Colstrip in Public Works. Over the span of 42 years, Dan's expertise and dedication made him an invaluable part of the community. Colleagues and friends alike knew they could always rely on him to fix or build anything, a testament to his skill and generosity. Dan's contributions extended beyond his professional life, as he proudly served on the Colstrip City Council, where his leadership and vision were greatly admired. His civic spirit was matched by his enthusiasm for life, marked by a love for NASCAR and a particular admiration for Joey Logano. An accomplished guitarist, Dan found joy in playing music, a passion that he passed on to his grandson, creating a legacy of melodies that will continue to resonate. His family fondly recalls countless memories of camping and fishing at Nelwan Reservoir, a beloved tradition that brought him immense happiness. Known for his quick wit and warm smile, Dan had a gift for making others laugh with his funny sayings and good-natured humor. His kindness and readiness to help were just a few of the qualities that endeared him to all who knew him. In celebrating Dan's life, we remember a man whose heart was as vast as the Montana skies under which he was born. His warmth and laughter will forever echo in the lives he touched, and his legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him. A memorial service to honor Dan's life will be held at a future date, where family and friends will gather to share their memories and celebrate the extraordinary life of a remarkable man. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Dan's memory to a charity of your choice, reflecting his spirit of giving and kindness.
