Daniel Hanlon
September 29, 1957 — May 9, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Daniel Hanlon, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, who left this world peacefully on May 9, 2026, surrounded by the love of his cherished family. Born on September 29, 1957, in the vibrant town of Saugus, Massachusetts, Daniel's life was a testament to kindness, joy, and dedication.
Daniel was the treasured son of Edward and Claire Hanlon, who predeceased him, along with his brother Jim and sister Kerry, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Linda Hanlon, with whom he shared a lifetime of dreams and happiness since they first joined hearts in 1979 and married in 1985.
Together, they nurtured a beautiful family, raising three wonderful children: Scott, Matthew, and Jessica, who were his pride and joy. Daniel's family extended beyond his immediate circle, with siblings who meant the world to him: Pat and John Cuneo of Merrimack, NH; Kathy and Mary Hanlon of South Berwick, Maine; Michael and Donna Hanlon of Seabrook, NH; Kevin and Linda Hanlon of Concord, NH; Anne and Joseph Dominick of Saugus, MA; and Lisa Kelly of Keene, NH. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom he adored and who will forever cherish his memory.
A proud alumnus of Saugus High School, class of 1975, Daniel spent over five decades as a master glazier, sharing his unparalleled expertise at Saugus Glass, Lynnfield Glass, and most notably, over 30 years at All City Glass. In recent years, he found fulfillment at Accurate Glass, where he generously mentored young glaziers, passing on his skills and passion for the craft.
Daniel was renowned for his jolly demeanor, bright smile, and the many stories he delighted in sharing, bringing laughter and light to all who knew him. He was a devoted member of the community, finding joy in the company of good friends at the local VFW. In his later years, Daniel developed a deep appreciation for birdwatching, particularly captivated by the majestic bald eagles along the Saugus River.
A service to honor and celebrate Daniel's remarkable life will be held on June 6, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Saugus VFW, located at 190C Main St, Saugus, MA. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to The Heart Foundation, a cause close to Daniel's heart.
As we remember Daniel, let us embrace his philosophy: "Kindness doesn’t cost a thing, yet it’s the richest gift you can give." His spirit will forever inspire us to live with grace, generosity, and love. Rest in peace, dear Daniel. Your legacy of kindness and joy will remain in our hearts forever.
