Daniel Crawford Morrison
July 27, 1956 — March 31, 2026
Daniel Crawford Morrison, passed away peacefully, on March 31, 2026, at the age of 69. He was born on July 27, 1956, in the community of Scarborough, Toronto. Daniel was a man of integrity, quiet strength, and love. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, whose legacy will forever be treasured by those who knew him.
Daniel was the cherished son of the late Alexander and Marjorie Morrison, and was predeceased by his brothers Alex and Paul, and sisters Joy, Nancy, Margaret, and Kathy.
Daniel is survived by his wife of 47 years, Janet Morrison. Their story began on September 15, 1978, when they married and embarked on a life journey filled with adventure, partnership, and commitment. They experienced the adventure of living in the Arctic for six winters before settling down in British Columbia. Together, they raised four wonderful children—Daniel, Roseanne, James and Stephanie, in the picturesque surroundings of Burns Lake, British Columbia.
A man of skill and dedication, Daniel was a Red Seal Carpenter whose craftsmanship left a lasting imprint across Canada. He began his career framing homes in Toronto, before dedicating his talents to building homes for the Inuit for the North West Territories Housing Corporation. His work in British Columbia, constructing custom homes, reflected his talents.
Beyond his professional achievements, Daniel had a curious mind and a heart full of creativity. He found joy in the world of electronics and was known for fixing televisions in his neighbourhood, while just a boy. He enjoyed building boats. He was also known for his love of song writing. As a hobby, he enjoyed being a studio technician, where he immersed himself in the melodies and harmonies to worship God, that brought him peace.
Daniel was a man of few words, embodying the adage that actions speak louder than words. He was the strong, silent type, who consistently demonstrated his love and care through his acts of service.
He leaves behind a loving family, including his siblings Ron, David, Sharon, Lynn, and Shirley, along with his cherished grandchildren, who were a source of great pride and joy in his life. Daniel's legacy of love, and craftsmanship, will live on in each of them.
For those wishing to pay tribute to his memory, donations can be made to the Diabetes Association.
As we bid farewell to this remarkable man, we hold onto the memories, the love, and the lessons he imparted. Daniel Crawford Morrison will be dearly missed. Yet he always believed that God was merciful and would forgive him for his sins because Jesus paid the penalty for our sins on the cross. So we are consoled because we believe we will see him again. We rejoice that he is in the arms of his beloved Saviour.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that who ever believes on him, shall not perish, but shall have everlasting life.
Jesus said: In my Fathers house are many mansions. If it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, to receive you unto myself. That where I am, there you may be also.
I am the Resurrection and the Life. He who believes in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.
