Daniel Briant

April 12, 1965 — April 19, 2026

It is with profound sorrow and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved Daniel Briant, who left this world unexpectedly yet peacefully in his sleep on April 19, 2026, at his home. Born on April 12, 1965, in Brampton, Ontario, Daniel's life was a tapestry of love, laughter, and devotion that touched all who knew him. Daniel was the cherished son of Orville and Shirley Briant, who predeceased him, as did his brother Rick. He is survived by his devoted wife, Cheryl, with whom he shared an extraordinary 36-year journey of love and partnership, having married on August 19, 1989, in their hometown of Brampton. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Victoria and Nathan, who inherited his sense of adventure and humor. Daniel was a proud and loving grandfather to his grandson, Austin, who brought immense joy to his life. His siblings, Joanne, Wendy, and Michael, along with a host of extended family and friends, will forever cherish the memories of a brother whose quick wit and unique sense of humor could brighten any room. Daniel was a man of many passions. In his youth, he was an enthusiastic outdoorsman, spending countless summers camping with his family, instilling a love for nature and exploration in his children. A committed member of the Canadian Armed Forces, Daniel served his country with honor and dedication, leaving an indelible mark on communities across Canada. His love for military history was profound, often sharing fascinating stories and insights that captivated the imaginations of those around him. Daniel's passion extended to his role as an avid Scout leader, where he imparted his love for adventure and the great outdoors to numerous young minds. In his quieter moments, Daniel was a collector of coins, finding beauty and history in each piece, much like he did in the people he met throughout his life. The family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the warm sympathies that have been extended in this time of uncertainty. Daniel's legacy is one of love, service, and laughter, a testament to a life well-lived and a heart well-loved. As we gather to celebrate Daniel's life, let us remember the joy he brought into our lives and the lessons he taught us through his actions and words. Though he has departed from this world, his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. A private family service will be held to honor Daniel's memory. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a local Scout troop or military history organization of your choice, reflecting the passions Daniel held dear. May Daniel rest in peace, his journey complete, and his legacy enduring in the stories we share.
