In Loving Memory of Danell T. Murphy aka Stop playin It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Danell Murphy, a cherished husband, devoted father, and beloved friend. Danell left this world on July 25, 2026, just shy of his 51st birthday, after a courageous battle with leukemia. Born on July 31, 1975, in St. Louis, Missouri, Danell lived a life full of laughter, love, and music that resonated with everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. The son of Willie Spencer and Garland Murphy, Danell was raised with strong family values that he carried throughout his life. He shared a deep bond with his siblings, Samantha, Andrea, Keith, and Thomas. Their shared childhood in St. Louis was filled with memories of joy and togetherness that he cherished deeply. Danell attended Eureka High School, where he began to cultivate his love for entertainment and music. Known for his infectious sense of humor and his knack for making people laugh, Danell was a natural comedian. His love for singing was evident to all who knew him. Whether he was performing at a karaoke bar or serenading friends and family, his voice was a constant source of joy and comfort. In 2022, Danell married Nikia Pinckney-Murphy, in a beautiful ceremony in Panama City Beach, Florida. Together, they built a loving home in Atlanta, shared dreams, and created beautiful memories. Danell was a proud father to Reginald Williams, Tiran Murphy, and Davion Murphy, whom he adored and supported in all their endeavors. Danell loved and appreciated both Diane Williams and Erica Allen for raising their son's as one family unit even when he was able to be there. Danell worked diligently throughout his life, holding several jobs, with his last position being at the Metro Atlanta Transportation Authority in the Landscaping Department. His dedication to his work and his ability to bring a smile to his colleagues made him an invaluable member of the team. A man of faith, Danell found spiritual solace at The Dream Center of Atlanta, which he considered his home church. His involvement in the church community was a testament to his commitment to living a life of purpose and compassion. Danell's vibrant personality and zest for life were contagious. He had a unique ability to bring people together and fill any room with laughter and song. His legacy of love and laughter will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched. In keeping with Danell's wishes, he asked that his friends and family wear a shade of green and celebrate him and party as if he were still here. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Danell's memory to organizations supporting leukemia research. As we bid farewell to Danell, we celebrate a life well-lived and a soul that brought light and laughter to us all. His spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us, reminding us to cherish each moment and to spread joy wherever we go. Rest in peace, dear Danell. You will be profoundly missed but never forgotten.
