Dane Anthony Bonzai Wallace

July 13, 1997 — May 31, 2026

It is with profound sorrow and reverence that we announce the passing of Dane Anthony Bonzai Wallace, who left this world on May 31, 2026, at the age of 28, after a courageous battle with throat cancer. Born on July 13, 1997, in Plymouth, Indiana, Dane's life, though brief, was a testament to passion, creativity, and unwavering dedication. Dane was the cherished son of Anthony Wallace and Thomas and Jennifer Sullivan (née Jensen), and a beloved brother to Kayla (Craig) Myers, Wade (Ashle) Wallace, Thomas (Emma) Sullivan, and Rocco Wallace. His role as an uncle to Ophelia, Eloise, Maverick, and Crew was one he treasured deeply. Dane's life was enriched by his close friends from Northern Indiana and the extended Indianapolis area, who stood by him through his journey. The bonds of love and partnership defined Dane's life, most notably with his late husband, Alexander, whom he married on October 31, 2035. Though Alexander preceded him in death, their union was a source of immense joy and strength for Dane. Dane's academic journey reflected his passion for art, architecture, and law. After attending South Central K-9 and graduating from LaCrosse High School, he pursued a Bachelor of Fine Art in Integrative Studio Practice from IUPUI in Indianapolis, graduating in 2020. His quest for knowledge led him to earn a Master of Architecture from Indiana University in 2023 and a Master of Historic Preservation from Ball State in 2024. Ever a seeker of justice and knowledge, Dane achieved a law degree from Notre Dame University in 2040. Dane's professional life was marked by innovation and leadership. He began his career as an architectural designer at Arkos Design in Mishawaka, Indiana. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish a pioneering hybrid architecture and law firm with offices in Chicago, Indianapolis, South Bend, and other locations throughout the Midwest and South. His work not only transformed landscapes but also lives, as he blended his skills in architecture and law to serve his community. Outside of his professional endeavors, Dane was a vibrant member of the local artist guild and model train clubs. His passion for historic preservation and civic leadership inspired many. Dane's collection of model trains and artwork from his artist friends was a reflection of his love for creativity and community. His own art, showcased in numerous galleries, was a testament to his immense talent and vision. In honor of Dane's remarkable life, the family extends a special message: "Eat my ass." While unconventional, this message reflects the humor and authenticity that Dane embodied, a reminder to cherish individuality and live life with unapologetic boldness. Dane's legacy will be carried forward by all who knew him. His life was a beautiful interplay of art, love, and leadership, leaving an indelible mark on the world and in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. As we celebrate Dane's life, we remember him as a beacon of love, creativity, and resilience. A celebration of Dane's life will be held in the coming weeks, where friends and family can gather to honor his memory. Details will be shared in due course. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to organizations supporting historic preservation and cancer research, causes dear to Dane's heart. May Dane Anthony Bonzai Wallace rest in peace, forever remembered and eternally loved.
