December 28, 1970 — March 14, 2026

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Dana Steffensen, a beloved daughter, sister, partner, and friend, who left us far too soon on March 14, 2026, at the age of 55. Born on December 28, 1970, in the welcoming embrace of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Dana was a beacon of light and laughter who touched the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Dana was the cherished daughter of Shelley Steffensen and the late John Steffensen. She was predeceased by her loving grandparents, Ulla and Vern Steffensen, and Bill and Mary Baxter. Dana leaves behind a devoted family, including her mother Shelley, her sister Jaime and brother-in-law Scott, her adored nephews Sam and Matty, and her devoted partner Jamie. She was a proud stepmother to Sydney, along with her husband James, and a doting grandmother to their sons, Charles and Henry. Dana's circle of love extended to her Aunt and Uncle Deb and Ron Baxter, her cousins Julie (Nick) and Chad (Meghan), as well as many cherished extended family members and dear friends scattered across Alberta, British Columbia, and Manitoba. Affectionately known for her clumsy yet endearing nature, Dana's life was one of vibrant color and spirited enthusiasm. She was a self-proclaimed "walking wrecking crew," whose clumsiness was matched only by her quick wit and sarcasm, leaving those around her in stitches of laughter. Dana was a fiercely loyal friend, whose heart was as big as her personality. Her passions were as diverse as they were abundant. Dana was an avid bargain hunter, always on the lookout for a good deal, and a true music enthusiast, finding solace and joy in the melodies that filled her life. Her love for Wheaten Terriers was matched only by her fondness for Lululemon, encapsulating her lively spirit and zest for life. Family was her anchor, the love and connection she shared with them her greatest treasure. Dana had a remarkable touch for decorating, transforming spaces with a keen eye and innate sense of style. Her quick retorts and sarcastic humor were legendary, making every gathering she graced a lively and memorable event. Throughout her life, Dana faced heart and lung issues with an unyielding courage that inspired all who knew her. She bore her challenges with quiet strength and bravery, never allowing her spirit to waver in the face of adversity. In accordance with Dana's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held, allowing her family and closest friends to honor her life in an intimate setting. Dana's family wishes to express their profound gratitude to those who have provided support and comfort during this difficult time. Your love and kindness have been a source of strength and solace. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Dana's memory, celebrating her life by spreading kindness in her name. Dana Steffensen will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her. Her laughter, loyalty, and love will remain a guiding light for all who were blessed to know her.
