December 28, 1970 — March 14, 2026

It is with profound sadness yet deep gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Dana Steffensen on March 14, 2026. Born on December 28, 1970, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Dana left this world at the age of 55, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and unwavering love. Dana was the cherished daughter of Shelley and the late John Steffensen, whose love and guidance shaped her into the remarkable woman she became. She now joins her father John, and her grandparents Ulla and Vern Steffensen, and Bill and Mary Baxter, who surely welcomed her with open arms and loving hearts. She leaves behind her devoted mother, Shelley, who was her constant support and confidante. Dana's spirit lives on in her sister Jaime and brother-in-law Scott, and she will forever be "Auntie Dana" to her nephews Sam and Matty, who brought her endless joy. Her love extended to her partner, Jamie, and his daughter Sydney, along with her husband James and their sons Charles and Henry, who she adored as her own. Dana's family circle was wide, including her dear Aunt and Uncle, Deb and Ron Baxter, and her cousins Julie with husband Nick, and Chad with wife Meghan. She counted herself blessed with many wonderful extended family members, and friends who became family, stretching across Alberta, British Columbia, and Manitoba. Known for her clumsiness and quick wit, Dana was a beacon of loyalty and humor. Her sarcasm was her signature, her loyalty a gift to all who knew her. Despite her self-proclaimed clumsiness, she had an undeniable touch for decorating, creating spaces that echoed her vibrant personality. Dana's interests were as eclectic as her spirit. A self-described "walking wrecking crew," her zest for life was evident in her passionate pursuit of bargains and her love for music. She found joy in the company of her beloved Wheaten Terriers and cherished the comfort of Lululemon attire. Above all, her family was the cornerstone of her world, the center of her universe. Though Dana battled heart and lung issues for years, she did so with a quiet strength and bravery that inspired all who knew her. Her courage in the face of adversity was a testament to her character, a silent yet powerful reminder of her resilience and grace. A private ceremony will be held to honor Dana's life, in keeping with her family's wishes. Though the gathering will be intimate, the love and memories shared will echo far beyond, a testament to the indelible mark she left on the world. In her passing, as in her life, Dana Steffensen reminds us of the importance of love, laughter, and living each day to its fullest. While we mourn her loss, we celebrate her life, grateful for every moment shared, every memory made. Dana's family extends their heartfelt thanks to all who have offered their support, love, and condolences during this difficult time. Rest in peace, dear Dana. You are loved beyond words, missed beyond measure, and cherished forever.
