Dana Diane (Humphrey) Buchanan, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2026, surrounded by the warmth and love of her family. Born on March 16, 1963, in Holdenville, Oklahoma, Dana brought light and joy into the lives of everyone she encountered.
Dana was the cherished daughter of Rick Humphrey and Joyce (Gann) Conaway, both of whom predeceased her. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Steve Humphrey, her grandson, Dallyn Wayne Buchanan, and her daughter-in-law, Amberly Barrett. Her legacy continues through her devoted husband, Wade Buchanan, whom she married on March 5, 1997, and their loving children, Tony Barnes and Ricky Buchanan. Dana's memory will also live on in the hearts of her grandchildren, Daniel Buchanan and Larry Barnes.
Dana was a proud graduate of Graham High School, class of 1981, and went on to earn her LPN license in November 1989. Her passion for nursing and caring for others led her to a fulfilling career, particularly at Highland Park and May’s Housecall, where her dedication and compassion left a lasting impact on her patients and colleagues alike.
An active member of Salem Baptist Church, Dana found joy and in her faith. Her kindness knew no bounds, and she was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, often without being asked. Her tender heart especially extended to children, who she adored and nurtured.
Dana's love for her family and friends was the cornerstone of her life. She delighted in spending time with them and took great pleasure in keeping her yard immaculate.
In addition to her husband and children, Dana leaves behind her siblings, Jimmy Humphrey, Darrel Conaway, Jody Conaway, Troy Winkles, Shelly Coleman, and April Secor, as well as her parents, Larry Conaway and Lydia Humphrey. Each one will forever cherish the memories they made with Dana.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Risa and Gretchen Palmer for their compassionate care and support during Dana’s final hours.
