It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dan Douglas, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Passed away on August 17, 2026, and was born on August 16, 1952, in Bennettsville, South Carolina, Dan was a pillar of strength and warmth in the lives of those who knew him. He was the cherished son of the late Lee and Daisy Douglas.
Dan's life was marked by his unwavering dedication to his family and community. In 1981, Dan married the love of his life, Marilyn Douglas, in Marlboro County, South Carolina. Together, they shared over 40 years of love and adventure, raising their children and creating countless cherished memories. Marilyn's passing left a void, but Dan continued to honor her memory through his kindness and selflessness.
He was a devoted father to his daughter, Danyetta Douglas, and a loving stepfather to Ronald and William Grant. Dan's legacy continues through his grandchildren, his siblings, nephews, nieces, and a circle of close friends who became his extended family.
Educated in the Marlboro County schools, Dan spent an extraordinary 53 years working at Pepsi of Bennettsville. His tenure, which began in 1970, was a testament to his remarkable work ethic and loyalty. Dan was also a respected member of the Sawmill Lodge #375, where he was honored with the Man of the Year award in 1990.
Dan found joy in simple pleasures. He was an avid fisherman and a devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Those who knew him will remember his generous spirit; he always put the needs of others before his own, finding contentment in the happiness of his family and friends.
