Damien Thomas Schenk
April 20, 2002 — October 18, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Damien Thomas Schenk, a beloved son, husband, and father, who left this world peacefully at his home in Falls of Rough, Kentucky. Born on April 20, 2002, in the same close-knit community, Damien brought light and joy to those around him for 24 cherished years.
Damien's life was centered around his deep love for his family, including his devoted wife, Hannah Renea Schenk, and his treasured children, Chris and Liam Schenk. His heart was full of love and dedication, and it was in the embrace of his family that Damien found his greatest happiness. He was predeceased by his cherished family members, including Lynda Kay Schenk, Tyler Rainwater, and Jayden Rainwater, who undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms.
A proud graduate of North Hardin High School, Damien went on to serve his country with honor as a member of the U.S. Army National Guard, where he held the position of 31B. His dedication to service was matched only by his commitment to providing for his family, which he did through his work at Waupaca Foundry.
Damien was a man of many interests, and among these, his love for video games stood out. But it was the simple, joyful moments spent with his children and wife that he cherished most. Known for his generosity and kindness, Damien was the type of person who would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. Despite struggling with mental health challenges, he remained a steadfast pillar of love and support for his family.
A funeral service to honor Damien's life will be held at Dermitt Funeral Home, located at 306 W Main St, on October 18, 2026, at 22:48.
