Dalton Roy

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dalton Roy Knights who went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 6, 2026.
Born on July 25, 1941, in Lincoln, Maine, Roy lived In Robbinston Maine, his primary residence and for a while in Calais Maine. He was known as “the preacher” because of his Christian faith and willingness to share his faith with others.
Roy was the son of Arlene Milton and Clayton Knights, who preceded him in death. He was a proud veteran, having served in the Marine Corps for two years. After his military service, Roy continued his commitment to his country by working for the Department of Defense. As an Alert and Service flight technician at Felker Army Airfield, Fort Eustis, Virginia, he dedicated seventeen years to ensuring the safety and readiness of his colleagues.
While in Virginia, Dalton met and married Linda Burris of Newport News, VA. Together they raised two sons, Cary and Jason. Jason passed away on July 26 2018. Roy is survived by his son, Cary, his grandchildren, Tyeler, Joseph, Olivia, Carson, Hayley and Cammy, a brother, Gary, and a niece, Pam.
Dalton faced the challenges of kidney and heart disease with courage and grace. He passed away peacefully at home in Robbinston, Maine.

Roy will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. We invite those who loved Roy to celebrate his life by sharing stories and memories of his life.
