March 17, 1936 — September 5, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dale Herbert Klug, who left this world on September 5, 2026. Born on March 17, 1936, in rural Hoskins, Nebraska, Dale was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, as well as a cherished friend to many.
Dale was the son of the late Herbert and Lena (Janssen) Klug. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Merlin Klug. Dale's legacy of love and dedication continues to live on through his wife, Mary, and his children: Kelly (Dale) Terrell, Connie (Gary) McLaughlin, and Bob (Jean) Klug. He was the proud grandfather of seven grandchildren and the great-grandfather to fourteen great-grandchildren, all of whom were sources of immense joy and pride.
On June 26, 1957, Dale married Janice Jenkins in Norfolk, Nebraska, and together they raised three wonderful children. Though their paths eventually diverged, they remained united through their children. Later in life, Dale found love again and married Mary Clark on August 27, 1981, with whom he shared years of happiness.
Dale's professional journey began on the farm after his first marriage, where he cultivated a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for the land. In 1973, he and Jan moved to Colorado, where they embarked on a new venture as the owners of Colorado Nursery. By 1975, they had acquired Colorado Fertilizer, a business that thrived until 2012 and eventually transformed into Midwest Materials. In 2004, Dale and Mary realized a long-held dream by purchasing a ranch in Crawford, Nebraska, where they spent many fulfilling years.
An adventurous spirit, Dale was an avid snowmobiler in his younger days, and later, he found great enjoyment in vintage pulling tractors. His zest for life and passion for his hobbies were infectious, inspiring those around him to pursue their own interests with equal fervor. Dale and Mary did extensive traveling.
In accordance with Dale's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor his memory. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity of your choice, reflecting Dale's generous spirit and his lifelong commitment to helping others.
