Dale Edward Wilkerson
September 7, 1976 — May 7, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dale Edward Wilkerson, who departed from this world peacefully on May 7, 2026, at the age of 49. Dale was surrounded by the love of his cherished family in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, as he concluded a courageous battle with illness.
Born on September 7, 1976, in Claremore, Oklahoma, Dale was the beloved son of the late Sharon Marie Sumner and Dale Edward Wilkerson Sr. Throughout his life, he carried forward the legacy of love and warmth imparted by his parents and the close-knit family he held dear. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and several aunts, uncles, and other family members, each of whom he held in his heart with great affection.
Dale's life was a testament to the bonds of family and friendship. He shared a beautiful partnership with his devoted wife, Letisha, with whom he embarked on a journey of love and commitment in Collinsville, Oklahoma. This union blessed them with a blended family, making Dale a proud father to Rena, and together they welcomed five more children—Devin, Jade, Justin, Dustin, and Jace. Dale and Letisha nurtured their family with love and guidance in Locust Grove and later in Wagoner, Oklahoma, creating a home filled with laughter and cherished memories.
Dale was a man of many talents and passions. He obtained his CDL and embraced the life of a truck driver, a career that allowed him to see the world from the open road until illness curtailed his travels. Nonetheless, he remained undeterred, channeling his indomitable spirit into the things he loved most. Whether he was casting a line on a peaceful lake or crafting intricate woodworking projects alongside his beloved wife, Dale found joy in the simple pleasures of life.
An active member of his community, Dale's faith was a cornerstone of his life. He attended many churches, with a family church in Ramona holding a special place in his heart. It was here that he shared in fellowship with his father-in-law and other family members, fostering a spirit of unity and devotion.
Dale's legacy is one of love, laughter, and resilience. Known for his goofy jokes and infectious humor, he brought smiles to the faces of all who knew him. His loving heart and unwavering strength were sources of inspiration, and his kindness and generosity knew no bounds. These qualities will remain etched in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
Dale's memory will be cherished by his surviving family: his loving wife, Letisha; his children, Rena Gilmore, Jade and Daniel Collins, Devin Wilkerson, Justin and Sarah Wilkerson, Dustin Wilkerson, and Jace and Tayler Wilkerson; his adoring grandchildren, Payton, Eli, Aiden, Nova, Madelynn, Sullivan, Stevie, Cannon, Ella, Carter, Violet, and Kinsley; his sisters, Tammy Farmer and Lorrie Moore, along with their children; his brother, Joshua Wilkerson; and sister, Jayme Osborne. He is also survived by a host of extended family members and dear friends, each of whom he loved deeply.
In honoring Dale's life, we celebrate a man who lived with passion and purpose, whose love for his family and friends was boundless, and whose spirit will continue to guide and uplift those he leaves behind. May his soul rest in eternal peace, enveloped in the love he so freely gave to others.
