In loving memory of Dale Edward Wilkerson jr, who graced this world on September 7, 1976, in Claremore, Oklahoma, and departed peacefully on May 7, 2026, surrounded by his cherished loved ones in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. After a courageous and long battle with illness, Dale's spirit took its final journey, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and resilience.
Dale was the beloved son of the late Sharon Marie Sumner and Dale Edward Wilkerson Sr. He was predeceased by his parents Sharon Glasco and Jerry Glasco, father Dale Wilkerson Sr., and Carolyn Wilkerson. He also joins in eternal rest his grandmother Lorain Irwin; aunts and uncles Thomas and Rita Schubert, Peggy and Robin Shubert, and Debbie Sue; brother-in-laws Robert Hines and Tommy Moore; his son-in-law Matthew Gilmore; and two precious grandchildren, known lovingly as Baby A and Baby B.
Dale's memory will forever be cherished by his devoted wife, Letisha, with whom he shared nearly three decades of partnership. Their journey together began in Collinsville, Oklahoma where he became a 1st time dad to Letisha’s daughter Rena then shortly after had 5 beautiful children of their own Devin, Jade, Justin, Dustin and Jace and now His legacy continues through his 12 treasured grandchildren: Payton, Eli, Aiden, Nova, Madelynn, Sullivan, Stevie, Cannon, Ella, Carter, Violet, and Kinsley.
He is also survived by his siblings, who, along with their families, will always hold him close in their hearts: sister Tammy Farmer and her children Zach, Kyle, and Katie; sister Lorrie Moore and her children Lauren and Vincent; brother Joshua Wilkerson; sister Jayme Osborne; Billy Gordon; and Lena Wheeler. His extended family includes cousins William, Rusty, and BJ Sumner, Jerry, William, Levi, Robin, and Sheila Shubert, and many more who were fortunate to know and love him.
Dale pursued a career that took him across the open roads as a dedicated truck driver, earning his CDL and embracing the freedom of the highways until his health no longer allowed him to continue. His professional journey was marked by determination and grit, traits that carried over into his personal life.
A man of faith, Dale found solace in the comforting embrace of many churches over the years, with a particular fondness for a family church in Ramona, where he spent cherished moments with his father-in-law and other family members.
Dale's hobbies reflected his joyful spirit and love for life. Whether casting a line while fishing or playing horseshoes with friends and family or engaging in woodworking projects with Letisha, he found happiness in simple pleasures. Above all, he relished the quality time spent with family and friends, infusing every gathering with his infectious laughter and playful, goofy jokes. His loving heart and unwavering strength were the pillars of his character, inspiring all who had the privilege to know him.
There will be a viewing May 14, 2026, at rice funeral home in catoosa for those who would like to gather with family and say their goodbyes before way lay dale to rest.
A service to honor Dale's life will be held on May 15, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Wofford Cemetery, located at 4955 OK-266, Catoosa, OK 74015. Family and friends are invited to come together to celebrate the life of a remarkable man whose love and laughter will forever echo in the hearts of those he left behind.
Dale Edward Wilkerson's legacy is one of love, resilience, and joy. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever illuminate the lives of those he touched.
