In Loving Memory of Dale Arlene Stevens
It is with deep sadness and profound love that we announce the passing of Dale Arlene Stevens, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Dale passed away peacefully on July 29, 2026, at the age of 77, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, devotion, and unyielding love.
Born in Piscataway, New Jersey, on May 3, 1949, Dale was the cherished daughter of the late Inez and John Simmons. She was preceded in death by her beloved sisters, Nedda Garvey and Marcella Duncan, whose memories she held dear throughout her life.
Dale was a devoted wife to her loving husband of 29 years, David Stevens. Together, they built a life filled with joy, companionship, and unwavering support. Dale was a nurturing and loving mother to her two children, James Spradley and Inez Spradley, who were her pride and joy. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Ivory Martin, Quran Jasper, Morgan Cooley-Spradley, and Kylie Francis, and she was further blessed with two great-grandchildren who brought her immense happiness.
Dale shared a close bond with her sister, Rosalyn Lark, with whom she shared countless cherished memories. Her family was the center of her world, and she was known for her warm and welcoming nature, always ready to offer a comforting word or a helping hand.
A graduate of Piscataway High School, Dale began her career at Bell Telephone. However, her most fulfilling professional years were spent at Rutgers University, where she dedicated 20 years of service before retiring. Her colleagues remember her as a diligent and compassionate worker who touched the lives of many with her gentle spirit.
Dale was a woman of deep faith and a long-standing member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, where she served faithfully in the Nurses and Greeters Ministries. Her commitment to her church and community was a testament to her generous heart and unwavering dedication to helping others.
In honor of Dale's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to celebrate her life. The family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity of choice in Dale's memory.
Dale Arlene Stevens will forever be remembered for her beautiful smile, her loving nature, and the profound impact she had on all who knew her. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, and her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire us all.
