Daisy Smith

Daisy Smith, a beacon of love and resilience, passed away on August 25, 2026, after a valiant battle with illness. Born on April 19, 1945, in Jacksonville, Florida, Daisy was the cherished daughter of Frank and Josephine Lee, who predeceased her. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Smith, with whom she shared over 40 years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and unwavering companionship. Daisy was a proud graduate of Stanton High School and furthered her education at Florida Community College at Jacksonville (FCCJ), where she earned her nursing certification. Her career spanned 20 years in the medical field, including roles as a Certified Nursing Assistant and Instrument Technician at Memorial Hospital. Daisy’s dedication to caring for others extended beyond her professional life, as she also found joy in working as a beautician, where her gentle touch and warm smile left a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of knowing her. A woman of many talents, Daisy was most at home when singing with the First Street Community Choir, where her voice lifted spirits and brought joy to many. Her love for music was only rivaled by her deep devotion to her family and community. Daisy is lovingly remembered by her children: Bernard Lee Sr, Vanessa Lee-Farrah, Roosevelt Lee and his wife Holly, and Sylvia Scott and her husband Arzolia. Her legacy continues through her 15 grandchildren, including Bernard Lee Jr, Melanie Lee, Dominique Lee, and Riley Lee, and 20 great-grandchildren. Daisy’s siblings, Rosemary Watkins and her husband Paul, Melissa Lee, and Johnny Lee, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends, will forever cherish her memory. The family invites you to join them in celebrating Daisy’s life on September 5, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the First Samuel Missionary Baptist Church, located at 3333 Franklin Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32206. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Daisy's honor. Daisy Smith will be remembered as a nurturing soul whose life was a testament to the power of love, kindness, and community. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she touched, and her legacy will continue to inspire all who knew her.
