In Loving Memory of Dad (1933-2026) It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of our beloved Dad, who departed this world peacefully on April 7, 2026. Born on December 8, 1933, in the United States, Dad was a cherished son of Isiah Priester and Mamie Harvey. His journey through life was marked by love, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to his family and community. Dad was a man of remarkable character and integrity, whose life was a testament to the values he held dear. He began his educational journey at Booker T. Washington, where he cultivated a lifelong love for learning. His service to his country as a proud member of the United States Navy further exemplified his dedication and bravery, qualities that he carried with him throughout his life. One of Dad's greatest passions was fishing. He found peace and joy in the serene embrace of nature, often casting his line into the water with a quiet reverence for the world around him. His love for the outdoors was rivaled only by his devotion to farming and gardening—a hobby that not only provided sustenance but also brought him immense joy and satisfaction. A devout member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, Dad's faith was a cornerstone of his life. His steadfast belief and active participation in his church community were a source of inspiration for all who knew him. He found strength and solace in his spiritual journey, offering guidance and support to those in need. Dad's legacy is deeply rooted in the love he shared with his family. He was predeceased by his cherished wife, Mary Priester, and his dear son, Joseph Priester Sr., whose memories he held close to his heart. As a grandfather, Dad shared a special bond with his grandchild, who was the light of his life. His family was his pride and joy, and he leaves behind a legacy of love and unity that will endure for generations. In honoring his wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to celebrate Dad's remarkable life. Though the gathering will be small, the impact of his life was vast, touching the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Dad's journey has come to an end, but the love, wisdom, and kindness he imparted will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. As we say goodbye, we hold onto the memories of a life filled with purpose and love, and we find comfort in knowing that he is reunited with his beloved Mary and Joseph. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the love he so generously gave in life.
