Willie Frank Moore

August 25, 1936 — April 9, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Dad Moore on April 9, 2026, at the age of 89, due to heart failure. Born on August 25, 1936, in Cleveland, Dad was the cherished son of Walter and Everine Moore. Throughout his life, he embodied the virtues of kindness, resilience, and unwavering dedication to his family and community. Dad’s life was a tapestry of rich experiences and devoted service. A proud graduate of East Tech in 1955, he immediately joined the military, serving his country with honor during the Korean War. His discipline and valor in the service were just the beginning of a life marked by hard work and commitment. Following his military service, Dad embarked on a diverse and fulfilling career. He spent six years working at the Post Office before pursuing his entrepreneurial spirit by founding Teals Lounge and Beverage, a beloved local establishment he ran for over twenty years. His journey continued with Artic Trucking Company for eight years before he found a rewarding role at Murtis Taylor, where he retired after fourteen years of dedicated service. Dad was not only a provider but also a pillar of love and strength for his family. On April 27, 1963, he married the love of his life, Barbara Moore. Together, they built a home filled with warmth and laughter, raising their children and grandchildren in the same cherished house in Cleveland, where their telephone number remained unchanged for over six decades. Their enduring love story is a testament to the power of commitment and companionship. Dad is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 62 years, Barbara, his daughter Tracee Moore-Grays (Samuel), and his sons Cordae Moore (Angelique) and Gregory White (Anna). He was a proud grandfather to ten grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense joy and pride. He is also survived by his dear sister, Vivian Lawyer (Cyrus). Preceding him in death are his parents, Walter and Everine Moore, and his siblings, Mary Abrams, Danny Moore, and Shawnee Nash and daughter Winona White who all held special places in his heart. A man of many passions, Dad was an avid fan of all things Cleveland sports, cheering tirelessly for his hometown teams. He also possessed a love for reading and photography, capturing life's beautiful moments through his lens and in the pages of countless books. A service to honor and celebrate Dad's remarkable life will be held on April 18, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Calhoun's Funeral Home, located at 23000 Rockside Road, Bedford Heights, OH 44146. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Dad are invited to gather in remembrance of a truly extraordinary man. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made in Dad's name to his favorite local charity, continuing his legacy of helping others. His life was a testament to love, service, and community, and his memory will forever be a guiding light for those who knew and loved him. Rest in peace, dear Dad. Your legacy of love will live on in our hearts and actions.
