In loving memory of a remarkable man, Dad and Grandfather, who departed this world on June 17, 2026, at the age of 94. Born on August 18, 1931, in the heart of Oklahoma, he was a beacon of joy and strength to all who knew him. His passing, due to a heart attack at home, has left an indelible mark on the hearts of his family, friends, and all those fortunate enough to have crossed his path. Dad and Grandfather was the beloved son of David and Ruth Hendricks, who predeceased him, along with his cherished daughter. He is survived by his loving daughter, his devoted sons, and his many adoring grandchildren, who will carry forward his legacy of love and laughter. Throughout his life, Dad and Grandfather wore many hats, each with dedication and pride. His career began in the fields of Oklahoma, where he nurtured the land as a farmer, a testament to his deep connection with nature. His journey then took him across the country as a cross-country truck driver, exploring the vastness of America. He later served with the state highway department and eventually became a bus driver, where his big, joyful personality and quick wit made every ride a memorable one. A proud member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and the American Legion, Dad and Grandfather was a man of community and camaraderie. His hobbies in gardening, landscaping, and farming were not just pastimes, but passions that reflected his zest for life and his appreciation for the beauty of creation. He never met a stranger, his warmth and humor drawing people to him like a magnet. His quick wit and infectious laughter could light up any room, making even the smallest moments feel significant. His family fondly remembers him as a man with an endless love for family and friends, a love that transcended the ordinary and touched everyone in extraordinary ways. As we gather to celebrate his life, we remember the stories, the laughter, and the love he shared with all of us. He lived a life filled with joy and purpose, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire those who knew him. Though he has left this earthly realm, his spirit lives on in the hearts and memories of his family and friends. We invite all those who knew him to join us in honoring his life, as we remember the man who never met a stranger and whose love was boundless. Rest in peace, dear Dad and Grandfather. Your memory will forever remain a guiding light to those who loved you.
