In Loving Memory
Cindy Brown
July 13, 1969 — June 7, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cynthia "Cindy" Brown, a cherished soul whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of many. Cindy, a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother, left this world on June 7, 2026, after a courageous battle with illness. She was 54 years old.
Born on July 13, 1969, in the close-knit community of Morris, Illinois, Cindy was the beloved daughter of Hank and Anna Racinowski. From an early age, she displayed a vibrant spirit and a compassionate nature that would define her life. Cindy graduated from Coal City High School in 1987, and it was in this community that she would plant her roots and nurture her family.
On June 8, 1990, Cindy married Allen Brown, and together they embarked on the beautiful journey of raising their three children in Coal City, Illinois. Though their paths diverged in 2001, their hearts remained intertwined, ultimately reuniting in 2021 to continue their journey hand in hand.
Cindy's life was a testament to love and resilience. For many years, she was a devoted stay-at-home mother, pouring her energy into creating a warm and loving home for her children. As her children grew, Cindy rejoined the workforce, embracing a variety of roles with her characteristic enthusiasm and dedication. From working as a cashier and bartender to a line worker at Chicago Aerosol, she was truly a jack of all trades. Yet, it was in her role as a home health aide that Cindy found her true calling, caring for others with a tenderness that left an indelible mark on those she served.
Family was the cornerstone of Cindy's life. She is survived by her fiancé, Allen Brown, and their children, Chris Day (Ashley) of Tennessee, Tara Brown of Mazon, IL, and Jeff Brown of Coal City, IL. Her legacy continues through her three cherished granddaughters: Stella Brown, Gracie Enk, and Emma Day, who were the lights of her life.
Cindy was predeceased by her parents, Hank and Anna Racinowski, her sisters, Kathleen "Kathy" Proud and Carol Racinowski, and her brothers, Robert "Bobby" Racinowski and Ronald "Kc" Racinowski. These early losses shaped her into a woman who cherished every moment with those she loved.
In her heyday, Cindy was an avid baker, delighting friends and family with goodies and home-cooked meals crafted from recipes passed down from her mother. Her kitchen was a place of joy and comfort, filled with laughter and the aroma of love. On quieter nights, Cindy found solace in playing card games, discovering new recipes on her phone, and binge-watching both classic and contemporary shows.
Cindy's legacy of kindness, resilience, and love will forever be remembered by those who had the privilege to know her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
