In Loving Memory

Cynthia Boykins
October 22, 1964 — June 20, 2026
On a gentle summer day, June 20, 2026, Cynthia Boykins, a cherished daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully departed from this world, leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience, and compassion. Born on October 22, 1964, in Birmingham, Alabama, Cynthia graced the world with her presence and spent her formative years in a warm and loving home on Schley Street. She was the beloved daughter of the late Beatrice and Willie Campbell, who welcomed her into a family rich in love and unity.
Cynthia was a bright student who graduated from Weequahic High School, where she began to forge the path of kindness and community service that would define her life. She was a beacon of love and warmth, and her life's journey was marked by her unwavering belief that love was all she needed. This belief was reflected in the way she lived—surrounding herself with family, friends, and her community, always prioritizing giving back and being there for those who needed her.
Cynthia's life was blessed with the love of her partner, Nathan Fluitt, and together they created a beautiful family. She was the proud and devoted mother of seven children: Kenneth Boykins, Kindra Boykins, Quassim Boykins, Kapri Boykins, Gary Kelly, Decori Fluitt, and Azjha Fluitt. Her children were her pride and joy, and she instilled in them the values of love, strength, and resilience. Cynthia was also a doting grandmother to her cherished grandchildren: Jeff, Jhavon, Quayon, Zynai, Heaven, Laniyah, Quassim, Carter, Paris, Devin, Sapria, King, Liam, and Jahlil. Each of them carries a part of her spirit and warmth.
Cynthia is survived by her loving siblings, who cherished her dearly: C.L. Deed, Irma Ellison, David Boykins, Timothy Madison, Carrie Deed-Payne, Willena Boykins, Rodrick Boykins, and Andrew Boykins, along with her brother-in-law, Robert Payne. She was preceded in death by her dear parents, Beatrice and Willie Campbell, and her beloved son, Shaquan Boykins.
With her passing, Cynthia leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends who were touched by her kindness and generosity throughout her life. Her family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Beth Israel Hospital for the care and compassion they provided in her final days, and to her daughter, Azjha Fluitt, for her exceptional strength and love at such a young age.
The family invites all who knew and loved Cynthia to join them in a celebration of her life on June 30, 2026, at 11:00 AM. Services will be held at the Chapel of Eden, located at 110 S. Munn Avenue, East Orange, NJ 07018. Together, we will honor the memory of a woman whose life was a testament to love, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication to family and community.
Dear Momma, your children could never repay you for your many sacrifices, but they will carry forward your legacy of love, kindness, and strength. Rest in peace, knowing the profound impact you have made on all our lives. You will be forever missed and eternally cherished.
