Cynthia Ann Wharton (Bohn)

February 13, 1969 — April 26, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and a profound sense of loss that we announce the passing of Cynthia Ann Wharton (Bohn), lovingly known as Cindy, on April 26, 2026, after a courageous and valiant battle with cancer. Born on February 13, 1969, in St. Paul, Minnesota, Cindy's life, though not as long as we would have wished, was filled with love, laughter, and a legacy of cherished memories. Cindy was the beloved daughter of the late Michael G. Bohn Sr. and Ruth L. Burke. Growing up in Blaine, Minnesota, she later moved to Edina during her junior year in high school, where she continued to flourish and develop the radiant and compassionate spirit for which she was known. Her beautiful smile and loyal friendship were gifts she shared freely, touching the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her. In addition to her warm personality, Cindy was an active member of the Hopkins Elks organization, where she found enduring friendships and a community that enriched her life. She cherished these connections deeply, always ready to lend a hand or share a moment of laughter. Cindy's love for the outdoors was evident to all who knew her. If the sun was shining, you would likely find her at Green Lake in Spicer, Minnesota, either swimming or enjoying a peaceful day of fishing with her devoted fiancé, Chris Hazuka. These moments by the water were where Cindy found peace and joy, creating memories that will forever be treasured by those who shared them with her. Cindy is survived by her loving fiancé, Chris Hazuka, and her cherished daughter, Emily Wharton, and Emily's partner, Brian Durk. She is also survived by her devoted sister, Susan Schommer, and brother-in-law, Greg; her brothers, Michael Bohn II and his wife, Donna; Brad Berge; and Bruce Berge. Cindy joins in eternal rest her father, Michael Bohn, and her beloved son, Brandon Wharton, whose memories she held close to her heart. The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the compassionate staff at Methodist Hospital, 5th Floor, and the caring team at Our Lady of Peace in St. Paul for their unwavering support and kindness during Cindy's final days. Cindy will be remembered for her boundless love, her unwavering strength, and the joy she brought into our lives. As we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the beautiful legacy she leaves behind—a legacy of love, friendship, and resilience that will continue to inspire us all. A private memorial service will be held for close family and friends to honor Cindy's life, with a celebration of life gathering to follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Cindy's memory to a cancer research organization of your choice. Rest in peace, dear Cindy. Your light will forever illuminate our hearts.
