Cynthia Ann Stage
May 26, 1945 — March 16, 2026
With heartfelt sorrow and profound love, we announce the passing of our beloved Cynthia Ann Stage, who peacefully departed from this world on March 16, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Cynthia, affectionately known as Cindy, was born on May 26, 1945, in Noblesville, Indiana, to William R. Shoaf and Juanita Whittaker Shoaf, who predeceased her. She was 80 years old at the time of her passing and succumbed to complications from a stroke suffered on New Year’s Eve, at her cherished home with her devoted husband of 62 years, Phillip L. Stage.
Cindy’s life was a testament to love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to others. She was a nurturing mother, a passionate educator, and a compassionate foster parent. Married to Phillip L. Stage on December 25, 1963, their union was a beacon of enduring love and companionship. Together, they raised two sons, Stephan A. Stage, who precedes her in death, and Wm Lenord Stage, who survives her along with his wife, Jane Stage. Cindy is also fondly remembered by her precious granddaughter, Elizebeth Ashley Stage, as well as her brother, William Shoaf, and his wife, Georgia Shoaf.
A proud alumna of Noblesville Senior High School, Class of 1963, Cindy pursued numerous educational and psychological courses, equipping her to serve as a teacher’s aide and special education teacher. Her career spanned across Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Texas, where she left an indelible mark on countless young lives. Cindy’s heart was as expansive as her passion for teaching; she dedicated herself to fostering at least 12 children, offering them a nurturing home and a hopeful future.
Cindy’s commitment to service extended beyond her professional life. She was an active member of the Presbyterian Church, from her roots in Noblesville to her later years in Texas, embodying the values of faith and community. Her hobbies included a love for antiques and the restoration of older homes, reflecting her appreciation for history and beauty in all forms.
Known for her bright and uplifting spirit, Cindy had an exceptional ability to connect with children, young adults, and pets, particularly dogs. Her warmth and positivity were a guiding light to all who knew her, and her presence will be profoundly missed.
A service to celebrate Cindy’s life will be held on March 31, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Baptist Church, located at 2212 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX. Following the service, an interment will take place on April 1 at the National Cemetery of Dallas, TX, at 2:00 p.m. at the graveside, located at 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, 75211.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Saint Jude Hospital for Children, honoring Cindy’s lifelong dedication to the well-being of children.
Cindy’s legacy of love, education, and compassion will continue to inspire all who were fortunate to know her. She leaves behind a tapestry of cherished memories and an enduring impact on the lives she touched. May her soul rest in eternal peace, and may her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
