October 12, 1962 — July 26, 2026
Curtis Warren Love, a beloved son, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 26, 2026, at the age of 63. Born in Birmingham, Alabama, on October 12, 1962, Curtis was a beacon of kindness and generosity, known for his warm heart and gentle spirit.
Curtis was the cherished son of the late Reverend Samuel Warren Love and Mrs. Bertha Riley. His father, Reverend Samuel Warren Love, and his brother, Donald Everett Cofield, predeceased him, leaving an indelible mark on his life and guiding him with their wisdom and love. Curtis maintained a strong and loving bond with his surviving mother, Mrs. Bertha Riley, who was a constant source of strength and encouragement throughout his life.
Curtis was the devoted father of two sons, Ryan and Justin Underwood, and the proud grandfather of young Justin Underwood Jr. His sons were the pride and joy of his life, and he dedicated himself to their happiness and well-being. Curtis also leaves behind his loving sisters: Sharon Love, Vickie Harris (Terry Harris), Valerie Simmons (Jeffery Simmons), and Vernessa Love. Each remembers him as a pillar of strength and a source of unwavering support.
From a young age, Curtis was fascinated by the world of electricity. His natural talent and passion for being an electrician were apparent to all who knew him. Curtis spent his life mastering his craft, and his work brought light and power to countless homes and businesses. His dedication to his profession was matched only by his love for his family and friends.
Curtis's family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has shown them love and support during this difficult time. In honor of Curtis's memory, they invite those who wish to make a donation to a charity of their choice.
A private ceremony will be held to celebrate Curtis's life, as per the wishes of the family. While the gathering will be intimate, the family encourages everyone who knew and loved Curtis to remember him in their own unique way.
Curtis Warren Love will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him. His legacy of love, compassion, and dedication will continue to inspire all who were touched by his life.
