Curtis Vaugh, a beloved husband, brother, and grandfather, left this world peacefully in his sleep on July 31, 2026, at the age of 64. Born on November 8, 1961, in Chicago, Illinois, Curtis was a man whose life was deeply rooted in love and dedication to his family, friends, and work. Curtis was the cherished son of Edy May and the late Eva Mae, who predeceased him. He is survived by his devoted wife, Yolanda Vaughn, who shared his journey through life with unwavering love and support. Together, they built a home filled with warmth and joy, a testament to their enduring partnership. He leaves behind nine siblings and two godmothers, Barber Peterson and Betta Aguda, who cherished and loved him until his very last moments. Curtis was also a proud grandfather to four grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy to his life. Curtis was employed at Cedar Park Cemetery, where his work ethic and dedication were evident to all who knew him. He was committed to his job, always striving to achieve more, and working hard toward securing a hired position. His colleagues remember him as a diligent worker and a man of integrity. Family was at the heart of everything Curtis did. He had a profound love for his family and grandchildren, always placing their needs above his own. His love was the cornerstone of his life, and he found great joy in every moment spent with them. A service to honor and celebrate the life of Curtis Vaugh will be held at 10:00 a.m. on September 19, 2026, at Manuel Memorial Baptist Church, located at 901 W 66th. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend and remember the life of a remarkable man who touched the hearts of many. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that any donations be made in Curtis’s memory to a charity of your choice.
