Curtis Paul Pradia, born on July 4, 1944, in Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, on June 1, 2026. Curt's journey on this earth was marked by his unwavering love for family, a rich tapestry of friendships, and a life full of laughter and adventure. Curt was the cherished son of John and Gertrude Pradia, who predeceased him, along with his siblings Alvin, Tommy, Marion, and Audrey "Bobby" Pradia, and his beloved son Curtron Lott-Pradia. His legacy extends to his 12 grandchildren—Amya, Trey, Anya "Honey," Chloe, Cereniti, Jay, Brittany, CJ, Katrina Tenisha, Myesha, J'Vion, and Jer'Maya—and 14 great-grandchildren—Sage, Zay, Caleb, Khloe, Jordan, Khloe, JonErik Jr., Jaleah, Jodi, J'Vion, Journey, Jace, Jada, and Mala'Kai. He later transitioned to the construction industry, where he worked diligently until his retirement. Curt was a man of faith, baptized and serving as an altar boy at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church, a community he cherished throughout his life. Curt was a man of many talents. An exceptional hunter and fisherman, he was equally at home in the kitchen, where he crafted memorable meals, especially his legendary gumbo. His cooking was an expression of love, and his gumbo was a dish that brought family and friends together, seasoned with passion and served with a side of zydeco music. Known for his quick wit and warm smile, Curt had a gift for making others laugh with his memorable one-liners. His generosity and kindness were felt deeply by those who knew him, and his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren, sharing stories, and creating lasting memories. A service to honor Curt's life will be held on June 1, 2026, at 8:00 AM at Our Mother of Mercy. Following the service, Curt will be laid to rest at Brookside Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to join in a repast at Our Lady of the Sea Catholic Church to celebrate Curt's life and legacy. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone for their prayers, visits, and kind acts of support. Special thanks to Father Armstrong, Shannon Griffin, Curt's caretaker, and Sabrina, his hospice nurse, for their compassionate care in his final months.
